New members don't get email
Hi there,
I'm having new members (at last) but they don't get the email they need to log-in on the message board?
Any idea how to fix that?
This way new members never get on-line.
Thanks in advance!
Greetz, Ton.

Re:
New members do get the screen with Congratulations, your account is ready.
An email with an activation link is send.....etc.
But no email is received. Not in spam also.
Done twice no bij someone who wants to get online but no succes until now.
I did make a testaccount myself and did get the activation link in my spanfolder.
Anyone with the solution?

Re: New members don't get email
Did you make sure you used your email account you use in Google or Any other mail like Hotmail? If you did try double checking.

Re: New members don't get email
Making the account was done with a Google account. That's not wrong I guess?

Re: New members don't get email
There might be a typo somewhere, double check and see if the email you typed in is spelled correctly.
If it is then you good to go, if not I will need an administrator to help...

Re:
The problem is, there are to people who want to come online and both didn't get the email.
As said, I didn't have that problem with my testaccount I made as a complet new account.
But 2 persons at the same time?
I am the administrator of the Wij Nederlanders message board so hopefully I will do?
Only for today not anymore, I have to go in a few minutes. But somewhere tomorrow, after work?
Thanks so far for you help!

If you received the activation when you did a test, then the problem must be on their end.

Did they use Google? Or only you? Did they check their spam folder? If it isn't in spam, maybe their email provider blocked it?
You could try this:
1) create their accounts for them, using your email address,
2) change the email addresses on their accounts to their addresses,
3) send them their passwords, and
4) instruct them to change their passwords once they are logged in.
Alternatively, they can contact us through our Facebook page, and we can try to help them directly.

Re:
One did use his Google account, the other didn't. But he did made an account earlier, forgot the password and made a new account.
The first time that just worked out fine.
The other did first try with another provider, second time with an Google account.
Both checked their spamfolder as I suggested to them but there was no email with link from Runboard.
I'm trying to run an open forum here, were everybody can login and make an account. Responding to a posting can be set as one way of logon and making an account isnt'it?
That's the option I'm having.
If the forum starts to run you mean I have to try making accounts for people by hand?
Good be in the most wild idea for 17 million Dutch that are made at our politicians.
But you are right. If I did get the email with the activation link, they should to.
Thanks, I will try to log them on myself and change the security settings.

Re: New members don't get email
Yes, if you received your activation, they should, too. Several other accounts have also been created, activated, and used in the last few days.
After you create these accounts for your members and change the email to theirs, if they don't receive the email they're supposed to receive to confirm that change, let us know.
