Clickables Smilies

Is there anyway we can re-arrange our smilies - similar to the way we can change the arrangements of our forums.

Thanks,

Joan

Hi Joan,

Control Panel :: Board management :: Manage post icons

That is the place to manage your smiley entries. I generally have to have two tabs open when I do it so I can see which smiley is where and know which ones to move by copying and pasting.

Basically your have to reenter all the information for each smiley you are changing so it takes some time to do it...

Hi Joan,

Yes, you can. It's a little trickier than rearranging forums, but the concept is the same. You would have to copy and paste the URL and smiley code, and also check/uncheck the appropriate boxes.

When I rearrange smilies, I sometimes swap two at a time, then refresh the reply screen to make sure it's what I wanted. I also have a way of pasting the URL at the beginning of the previous URL, then hit shift+end and ctrl+x to cut the URL I want to swap it with.

Hmmm... Maybe I should make a video for that, because it's hard to explain in text.

Edit: Fixed where I misspoke about the process, which I realized when making the video (see below).

Re:

At least it gave us all a good smile between you. lol I had worked 2 nights and 1 day re-arranging all of our smilies and I had already and cut and pasted and re-checking to be sure they were where I wanted them and with the right name. Wow! A lot of work. lol That was when I checked to see if there was just an easier way - like we do to re-arrange our forums. lol

I think we still need just a simple program to easy changes smilies. Hint - Hint!

I'm glad we could make you smile. emoticon

I agree, the current process is tedious. I have a few ideas on ways it could be improved, and will pass them along to Thor. He might already have a better idea in mind, but as long as it makes rearranging them easy, I'll be happy with it. emoticon

Thanks, LG.

Maybe Thor will feel sorry for us and come up with an easy way to re-arrange our smilies. I like to change ours but that is such a tedious chore.
