Re:

This is the programming language Glen uses (he doesn't use a "assembler" because he says it adds junk to the code that isn't needed). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assembly_language

Glen is kinda like Thor when programming or like you when coding but I don't know anyone else that actually "thinks in assembly." I do have to admit that his programs are amazingly fast though.

Re: Doing some more testing

Thanks for the link, but I was talking about the program, not the programming language. Despite knowing about the program's existence for years, all I could ever gather is that you run it on an old machine and it takes screen captures so you can look at them later.

I imagine it might be a bit like trying to explain bézier curves to someone who has never seen any kind of image editor.

Ah that, yes, it is a really ancient 386 machine with 640k memory and a monster set of four 40 megabyte hard drives! It runs on FreeDOS 1.1 now in 32bit mode. emoticon

640k? If I did my math right, wouldn't 4G be 6553.6 times as much? emoticon

A 40 meg hd is pretty tiny, too. My 2nd computer (the first one of mine that I got online with) was 1.87 gigs, and even that is tiny by today's standards.

It's amazing that things still works. You could probably get some good money selling it as an antique. emoticon

The machine cost me almost $4,000 new and I am hopeful that it will continue to run until I get my moneys worth from it! Though given the price of new computers today it will have to go for another 10 years before I feel it has. emoticon

It seems kind of backwards, doesn't it? As technology gets better, the price seems to drop. emoticon
