Double posts?
I'm having trouble with double posts. Looked for potential answer to this problem without success. What do you advise?
Thank you.

Re: Double posts?
Welcome to Runboard Support, Adius.
Have you been hitting the refresh button on your browser after posting? If you do it while it's on the "redirecting" screen, this could cause a double post.
Double posts can be caused by something on Runboard's end, too, but I haven't heard any other reports about this happening in quite a while.

Re: Double posts?
Welcome, Adius.
I have occasionally had 'double posts' but that is because I'm on a Wifi connection and it will on occasion, seem to just sit and spin and not actually post. So I hit post again. It will then go immediately through, but there will be a double post.
I'm wondering, has your page ever "timed out" or taken what seems like forever to post? If so, did you just hit the back button or try to hit the Submit reply button again.
I found by using the preview button on every post, I save myself a lot of headaches with double posts. If it previews, it will usually then Submit if I hit reply....if it does not Preview then I am having trouble with a slow connection for whatever reason.
Just a thought.

Re: Double posts?
Adius,
I see that some of these double posts are happening 1-3 minutes apart, and you had triple posts here today that were each a minute apart. What happens in that time between posts? Do you see any error messages, a blank page, etc?

Re:
Appreciate the responses.I do the preview then hit the reply. That's it. I am on a WiFi at home. Weird because it doesn't happen on other boards. Today, I hit the reply on a ROF and it didn't post. Gremlin or operator error, I can't figure it out.

Re: Double posts?
You're welcome, Adius. Sorry, I don't know what ROF means, and Wikipedia lists 16 different phrases for that acronym, although some of them could be easily ruled out.
Do you have multiple tabs open when this happens?
After you hit reply, where do you go next? Back to the topic? To the topic listing? Somewhere else? Three whole minutes went by between your "Sticks - half brushes, half wood with bead (wood or nylon)" post and the duplicate. Can you remember anything weird happening in those three minutes?
If you'd like, you're welcome to use the Trash can forum to make some test posts, see what happens, and make detailed notes of everything you see and do. If you have screen capture software and can show me a video of what happens, that might help, too, but don't worry about that if it's too much trouble.

Re:
Rogers Owners Forum. No, only one window (tab) open. I noticed that a chat feature has shown up. I suspect it only because of the timing. Is there some way to eliminate it entirely as an option. I see a disengage option but it a tenacious little bugger that returns every time I try to stop the chat.

Re: Double posts?
Sorry, I should have realized what you meant by ROF.
I wouldn't expect the chat feature to cause this problem, but it sounds like it's worth investigating to see if it could be conflicting with your system in some way. Are you unable to disable it via the link at the bottom of boards?
