Have either of you been to Olympia, WA? That was going to be plan B. Either visiting Seattle or Olympia.. Olympia would be a lot closer to a few historical things of interest though.

Nope...but I do know that it sure is dreary in most all of that state during the winter months. I swear the coldest I have ever been was in Port Orchard, (just south of Bremmerton) during the winter. That damp, cold gets into your bones! Even colder than MINNESOTA! emoticon

Better you than me....I did not mind Minnesota's cold, but that rainy, damp cold of the Pacific Northwest gets deep into your bones...
I mean on the 4th of July watching the fireworks over Bremmerton across the bay.....we had long pants on, boots, sweaters, coats and wrapped in a blanket......froze our ass off in JULY! emoticon

I prefer heat over cold. Snow can be pretty in pictures, but I'd be happy if I never had to drive in it again. emoticon

I don't necessarily like Snow, ice, and all of that... But I like dressing in layers lol. I'd rather get too hot wearing a jacket, flannel, sweater, and t-shirt in the cold because then I could just take off a Flannel or coat or whatever.. Getting too hot in a warmer weather I couldn't remove clothing, well without looking like a tool lol.

Re: Seattle, Washington..

Sometimes even a tank top is too much, but that's only if I have to spend a considerable amount of time outside. Don't ever take a job paving asphalt. I was ready to pass out once in 100+ degree weather while helping my dad.

I should put in my two cents about Washington. I spent a couple of weeks about an hour away from Seattle, in the middle of June 2002. I don't recall much about their weather, but it seems like it rained almost every morning, clearing up by the middle of the day most days. I also recall some really cool-looking clouds on our way to the ocean one day. I'd never seen clouds like that around here. Mount Rainier was also visible from my friend's back yard, which was pretty neat.

A change of scenery might do you some good. I know it would do me some good.

Re: Seattle, Washington..

Ooh I know all about working in the hot sun lol.. When I was a kid I would have to help my Dad bale hay, and farm fields and what not, in 100+ weather. It isn't so much that I like being cold, I just like the ability to dress in layers, and remove an item if I get to warm lol.

So I guess it is true that Seattle (or that area) is the "Rainy City", great I go from living in a state with a city nicknamed "The Windy City", to one that is "The Rainy city" emoticon
