Today's downtime
This is really a sad joke. It had to happen when I am 700 km away from Paris with no Internet at 2 am in the middle of nowhere in the mountains. It could not happen a few hours ago when I was in Paris.
Crazy how sometimes bad luck just strikes where it hurts.
Anyway, I repaired it, sorry for the delay, I had to find internet access in a place where 1) there's like a couple of cheese producers and a few goats and that's it, 2) they all sleep anyway, men and goats alike 3) there's no internet access even if they were awake, 4) closest town with internet access is at least a hour drive on a snowy, narrow, curvy road in the dark in the mountains and even if I get there, everything is closed anyway.
Fun.
Hope it works until I get back to Paris on Monday.

Re: Today's downtime
And thanks Lesigner Girl for letting me know it was down, otherwise it would have been down until tomorrow.

Re: Today's downtime
It sounds like you were deep in the Ozarks, but that's more than a few hours away from Paris.
You're welcome, Thor, and thank you for braving those snowy, narrow, curvy roads to find a way to place to hook up and fix it.

Re: Today's downtime
I had server problems on my side as well, I did send a message in one of my 5 minute connect times around 11:20 CST but then lost connection again so I don't know if the IM got through... Happy to see the fix though and very happy Lesigner Girl has alternative methods of contacting you when there is a crash
Thank you both for going above and beyond what any other service would be willing to do.

I have to admit I was thinking about using telepathy - but then I thought Thor surely knows and is working on it.
Glad everything is back, and you, Thor, are safe despite those treacherous roads.

Re: Today's downtime
Just another reason why Runboard is the BEST place to be.
Admins who flat out MOVE when things go wrong, and an owner who actually gives a rats butt!
Thank you LG, PASTOR, ERIKA, and anybody else who jumped into action, and thank you Thor for caring even in the middle of the boonies!
Be safe, and take care....
