Hi Rick,
I just tried that but I don't have the "manage users" option in my admin cp, so I can't change their status from "guest" to "registered"

Re: New Runboard Chat Service
That sounds like a global admin thing to me, since accounts are good for all rooms.

Re: New Runboard Chat Service
Yes Lesa, I think it's a global admin setting only, as I can't change anything from my side in this regard. I can only access the general members list and view it, that's all, but I can't change the status of the users who are part of my chat room.
On another note, I noticed that you guys have created a very nice image for the live chat in the main forum view here
I also noticed that you have it sitting next to the Runboard staff member names and was wondering if you can actually replace the Chat text that appears at the bottom of the page with this image to make it stand-out a bit more?
If you don't wanna do that in Runboard Support, can I change the text with the live chat image in my board or is this a global setting that needs Thor to do the changes?

Re: New Runboard Chat Service
If you are referring to the link that appears here:
quote: Powered by AkBBS 0.9.5b - Link to us - Blogs - Hall of Honour - Chat
Only Thor can make that change, but you are welcome to use the image elsewhere if you want to.

Re: New Runboard Chat Service
Yes Lesa, that's what I mean and I expected that it may require Thor to do it.
Am running out of space on my board, so I don't have a place to stick this image in, that's why I hoped that the existing chat text link can be changed.

Re: New Runboard Chat Service
Hmmm... I wonder if you would have enough room in forumlistadministrators or forumlistmoderators to include a link and an image with an id. Then, if you have room in your CSS, you could float that image only off to the right, as Rick and I have done with TRD and Support. If you don't have room in your CSS, you could always add a remotely hosted style sheet and move some of your CSS to there.
Another possibility would be to add it to your miscoptbar links, the same way I added a text link here. With this method, only logged-in Runboard users would see it.

Re: New Runboard Chat Service
Hi Lesa,
Excellent idea
I do have space in the forumlistmoderators which I can add it in there, but how do I float the image to the right in CSS (I do have room in my CSS)? Actually, I might as well float the forum sticker/logo I currently have to the right as well while am it if you show me how.
Not sure if we need to move this discussion to Runboard Extra? Feel free to move it there if you like.

Re: New Runboard Chat Service
Hi Jalalski,
I created a little post for how to do this here.
The method described is for the forumlistadministrators but it works just as well with the forumlistmoderators.

Re: New Runboard Chat Service
Hi Guys,
I have put the chat room you have created for my board to good use last night and we had a big chat session to celebrate the 1000th member joining our board. It was a huge success and everyone has commented on how easy and user-friendly the chat application was.
Thanks heaps for that.
Question: Is it possible for us to keep this chat room assigned to our board?
