Re: Custom Runboard link help?
Those are trippy, Skokey! I could see using them for screen savers.
Rick, I think you're doing a great job. The animation is much smoother, and the graininess isn't too bad. In fact, I think the margins around the text on yours are better than the "official" graphic.

Re: Custom Runboard link help?
I think I would give myself a C+ or maybe a B- on this one. I think it is a little better than average but the sharpness on the text isn't as good as the "official" link. I think it is nice enough to use without being embarrassed (which is why I put this version on the TNZ) but I'll keep tinkering with the text to see if I can't get it looking better. For this one I finally ended up with a 27ms setting on the frames which seems to be very close to what I was after...

Re: Custom Runboard link help?
The text might just need touching up pixel by pixel, like Skokey mentioned. A lot of clarity can be gained by deleting some pixels and darkening others.

Re: Custom Runboard link help?
I just fixed the text on a tiny logo for Old Tramp by painting over the text with a one pixel pencil of a darker color. That way, the edges are still smooth and the dark makes each letter stand out more.

Re: Custom Runboard link help?
I ran my little Runboard link through the Gif Construction Set to see what would happen and this is the result:
now it is only 58.42 KB

Not a bad reduction.

Re: Custom Runboard link help?
The new one seems to have the running men running just a little bit faster than the old one to me. I read at 700wpm so the message is very readable from my pov but I don't know how well it is for the "average reader."

I'm sure you could slow that down though, right?

Re: Custom Runboard link help?
Oh yes, it took me awhile to figure out how to do that (it isn't in the menu for some reason) but now it is easy... just don't know how slow to go hehehe...

Re: Custom Runboard link help?
Maybe double the length of time for each frame?
