Re: Help with layout

Hi Honey emoticon

Just the fact that you raised the question tells me that I can trust you to keep your board's content within the TOS. Thank you. emoticon

Anyone will be able to see your banner, as well as anything else that is in your headers and footers. They just won't see your who's online, stats, forums, topics, etc. The good news is that your banner is fine for the general public, and it looks nice, too. You have a good talent for graphics. emoticon

Your rotating sigs... Well, we do have CSS in place that allows you to hide them by putting this at the very end of each post:

[b][i][b][i]

Don't close those bbcode tags (it creates improper coding, but it works). They need to stay open in order to hide your signature. You can edit your posts to add this, if you think any of your rotating images are too risqué for this board. I hadn't noticed any real overt ones myself, but I don't know how many graphics you have in the rotation. emoticon

A feature was just suggested a few days ago by Pastor Rick to allow users to disable our sigs on a per-post basis, the same way we can disable smilies and bbcode. But unless/until that becomes a feature, we're stuck with our CSS hacks. emoticon

Bedtime for me. Have a good one! emoticon

Re: Help with layout

Hi Hunnie,

Thanks for responding, I think the added feature to disable your tags is an awesome idea, I have that a few forums I'm a member of and it works beautifully.

The Code you posted, I take it that the bold[ are not to be including when typing it right? just so I don't mess up lol.

You are right that most of mine are okay but I don't like to offend anyone so if I post here I would like to be able to disable my tag...

Thanks for the compliments on my banner too...I love Janesko's artwork so I just had to use her...and I hide the boobies on purpose..lol

I also mentioned about the smilies, can you tell me where I can a few more?

Thanks Hun
((hugs)) Honeywing

Re: Help with layout

You are correct about the bolding. emoticon I only bolded the ['s to prevent the BBCode from doing its thing in the post. Don't be afraid to experiment in posts, because nothing you do in posts will cause irreparable harm, lol, and you can always edit them (or even delete, at your own board).

Sorry I missed your question about the smilies. There are lots of smiley sites on the web you can find by searching google for free smilies. When you find one you like, save it to your computer. Then, upload those smilies to your image host and link to them from there, under "manage post icons" in your board's control panel.

I don't know which smiley sites are the best, because I tend to just customize smilies I run across or make my own and don't go looking for them. Maybe Janesko could even customize some to match your board. emoticon
