Replacement of custom banner

Hi there,

I would like to submit my website to a webring, (darkover webring) and it is a requirement that the member-sites display a link to them on their website. However, I do not to seem to be able to replace the custombanner with the navigation code for their webring even tho i do everything according to the instructions to replace the custom banner. Can you help me with this?

oops forgot my board address hehe

I wonder whether I have to change the whole layout if I change the custom html-settings?
Not really sure whether this is the right forum for this question emoticon Just joined and its my first own messageboard, too emoticon

Goto Control Panel > Select Your Board > Click 'Manage' > Click 'Edit Colors/Layout Of Your Board' > Click 'Manage Custom HTML Content' then add to the header section the following code before anything else:

<img src="http://YOUR_BANNER's URL" border="0px" width="740px" height="120px" align="center" vspace="8">

Thanks, Alpha, doesn't seem to work emoticon. I copied and pasted the code as you posted it here in the line before the navigation code of the said webring. But still no effect ...Or can you see anything what I can't emoticon. Else I will have to do without the webring - membership ... The promotion tips in another section were very useful and I hope they bear fruit emoticon

You're supposed to REPLACE the "YOUR_BANNER's URL" above, with the ACTUAL URL pointing to YOUR image... I thought this would be self explanatory! Sorry if it wasn't, but then again that was the best I could do...

Obviously...

sorry, Alpha, being thick here emoticon i have to ask yet again, lol ...

So is it actually an Url of a site where the Navigation bar to the Darkover ring is on or the actual webring Navigation wizard?

And then the navigation code itself?

(I guess ye get fed up with all these web-newbies, eh? emoticon )

I'm afraid you have to be a lot more clear and specific about what you really want to to. I thought you were asking about replacing the sample banner... Now, I'm not sure I follow...

The reason it wont change is because you switched skins but to this temporary one and didnt replace your original.

You need to go back to

control panel > select your board > click manage > click change board theme/layout >

You need to check the option as shown to Switch and replace the current skin

Image

then change the banner as was previously explained above
