Are you serious?
Yes. My mother could never turn away a stray (people say that's how she met Dad).
For years, we felt it was normal to have a dozen or more animals around the place. One of the cats actually celebrated her 21st birthday before her ninth life expired.

You're secretly Steve Irwin, aren't you?
That sounds like fun to me! My mom was a science teacher, so we often had odd critters, but never that many at once.

No, crocodiles terrify me, although I do look just great in khaki.

I hope you mean science as in biology. Otherwise, I'd have visions of Mom up in her secret laboratory mixing test tubes to come up with another odd critter.

Yes, as in biology. She taught evolution at a Catholic school for a while. The Mother Superior just loved her My aunt is the one with the lab. How'd you know about that?

It's because she always wore that white coat. Oh, and having a man servant called Igor gave it away, too.

I wouldn't mind Igor working for me. He'd be good. Of course there's the stooping, the weird croaky voice, the hideous looks, the bad breath and the drooling to deal with ( but after a while, he'd get used to a boss like that).
