Shhhhh! You're revealing secrets!

I mean, um...there's oil in Iraq? You're kidding me? Are the weapons of mass destruction hidden in the oil? That must be it. After all, we wouldn't be there for any other reason. emoticon

Beavis - I was teasing you, don't worry. But at the same time, do bear in mind that with all it's faults, America is a wonderful country. We aren't all gun-toting, gas guzzling, greedy violence mongers. In fact, not even most of us are like that emoticon

However, my stance on guns is this: I don't like them, but every single woman and single mom (especially) in America should have one and know how to use it. Beyond all the "should" or "shouldn't" debates, the criminals here have them, and in my opinion people need to be prepared to live in the real world, not die in the world of "should." So there ya go.

Actually yes, but I think I can take you if it comes to that emoticon

It's a whole different world over here, beavis. Good or bad, guns are easy to obtain. I can walk out and buy one right now. Which means all the nasty people can do the same.

In my opinion, when the "bad guys" have guns, the "good guys" need them too. I'd prefer that they be completely obsolete. But the simple fact is, they aren't. Frankly, if my mother had not had a gun when I was younger, I would not be alive right now. She used one for protection, and good thing for me that she did.

Basically, in my view guns are neutral. People, however, are not.

I've read, or heard, that in 1 state over there, its illealge not to own a gun, on the pretense that, if u know the other persons got a gun, u ain't gonna pull a gun yourself, are you.

How fucked up a rule/law is that?

That's known as urban folklore, beavis. I am not aware of any state law like that.

There are some specific municipalities that have passed "laws" like that, always with the disclaimer that you are not obligated to own one if you have moral objections. They're passed to send a message to criminals that a lot of people in that area have no problem owning a gun and probably do, so don't mess with them. I think in some cases it's also to make a statement about the area's feelings regarding gun control.

I always thought that was a pretty silly thing, but a town near me actually passed a law like that, and they now have the lowest crime rate in the metro area.

However, you need a special permit to carry a concealed weapon. People don't randomly go around toting guns. But some people do keep them in their homes.

And we are talking guns because of stupid !@#$ co-workers.

Speaking of, we have been at work for 9 1/2 hours now, 2 1/2 to go, and in the little fishbowl that i am currently working in there is a gentleman who thinks nightshift is a brilliant time to sleep. Two other people have just got up and walked out, 1 stating that why the fark should i do all the work while he's sleeping, and the other because he couldn't put up with the snoring.

It wouldn't be so bad, if it happened on the odd occasion, but every nightshift its the same, and some dayshifts as well. Yet, nothing gets done about.

*goes to ebay, gotta get a gun*

That bites, beavis, I'm sorry. People like that piss me off.

We're talking about guns because I didn't know what a rattlegun was. Hmm, but the Australian did - guess you're the gun expert out of the two of us emoticon

However, you're only allowed to solve the problem with a gun if you work at the post office. emoticon

Dang, I don't work at a postal service industry place of employment.

Gun expert, far from it, it's a ganster thing, some men when in thier formitive years wanted to be just like a gangster, the cars, the women and so on. (i also believe that they may have been watching the occasional adult film to come up with that theory)
