She teacher English and French? I'm impressed.

Yeap. She also speaks Italian and a bit of Spanish but not on a professional level.

As for me, you could say that I'm self taught in English after I got my FCE diploma some 25 years ago. I'm still a subscriber at Webster's Word of the Day, but you know what? They usually send me in my email everyday the most elevated words in English language and I find this to be pretty boring 'cause 90% of them are of Greek origin, so that's not news for me, actually... emoticon

lol - so what you're saying is, it's all Greek to you? Hmm, that's probably another joke that won't make sense...ah, well, we'll see.

Word-of-the-day words are usually either things everyone knows or things you'll never have cause to use anyway, in my opinion.

My aunt went to Greece, but the only thing she learned to say in Greek was "Kiss me, I'm a crazy American." - lol

Nice joke, addi. emoticon

Well, I can order tea in Greek. And wine. emoticon

And I can say Good Night. Impressive, what?

Actually it is funny to see how many Latin and Greek words make up "difficult" words in English. For one who had both in school, all those elaborate vocabulary tests are a laugh.

Alpha, how old are you if you got a diploma in English 25 years ago? (I'm 38, just so that nobody can say I'm asking questions I wouldn't answer myself.)

I'm 42 and counting... Although I don't look older than 30 or so... Now is that good? emoticon

I took Latin, but no Greek. It hasn't stuck with me all that well. But I can still count to a hundred in Latin! Wanna see... emoticon

addi = 30 years old. emoticon

Actually, I get mistaken for younger than I am too, but I think it's just because I'm short emoticon It can get very annoying.
