Re: Being able to delete ones own posts
At present, only Mods and Admins can delete posts.
You can always edit out your post so there's only one character (eg. a '.') left.
Or ask a Mod/Admin on the board to zap it for you.

Re: Being able to delete ones own posts
Right thats how it works now. My suggestion is so people can delete there own posts and not have to get a mod to delete it.

I like this idea too. The akheva forums is the only forum I've had that doesn't have this feature yet.

Re: Being able to delete ones own posts
Any particular reason youre against it?
I would like for deleted messages within posts to leave a <post #3 deleted> type message. I find its pretty useful if something in the conversation is disrupted by the deletion you atleast know youre not going nuts when youre confused and it may just be that you missed something that is no longer there.

I guess if there was an indication that a post was deleted, I'm fine with it. Otherwise I think it could be a tool for flamers. Or basically, people who need to get away with things.

Re: Being able to delete ones own posts
With all my other forums I never had a problems with flamers or anyone being a such. I think it would make sense to have the ability to delete your own post. Most I've seen were cases where someone posted to the wrong person by accident or posted in the section. Some said they deleted their post due to the issue being over. ex: promoting their album or new releases on mp3 sites. Some deleted their post due to their changed their site url.

Re: Being able to delete ones own posts
Possibly a person could be putting profanity and keep doing that for fun then when they leave the board just delete it?
Hmm they could edit but ehh no good reasons....

Re: Being able to delete ones own posts
At least let it be triggerable! Some board admins won't like it some will.
I for one don't like it.
