Re: Cannot log in through a frame?
Nope. Still doesn't seem to work. I still get the Privacy report little icon in IE6 saying something is being blocked. The report lists the following as being blocked:
http://com1.akheva.com/beqnewhorizonsguildchat
http://com1.akheva.com/login
http://www.akheva.com/img/akheva_logo_akg2.jpg
http://www.akheva.com
http://www.akheva.com/img/question_mark.gif
http://www.akheva.com/img/create_comm.gif
It says that there is a syntax error in your policy

Re: Cannot log in through a frame?
Thorn,
It is still not appearing in the source. See for yourself, it should be under the meta tags:
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN">
<html>
<head>
<!-- no cache headers -->
<meta http-equiv="Pragma" content="no-cache">
<meta http-equiv="no-cache" content="">
<meta http-equiv="Expires" content="-1">
<meta http-equiv="Cache-Control" content="no-cache">
<!-- end no cache headers -->
<!-- P3P thing -->
<link rel="P3Pv1" href="http://www.akheva.com/w3c/p3p.xml">
<!-- /P3P thing -->

Re: Cannot log in through a frame?
It was there, just buried in the HTML further down. I've moved it right there with the no-cache headers:
<!-- no cache headers -->
<meta http-equiv="Pragma" content="no-cache">
<meta http-equiv="no-cache" content="">
<meta http-equiv="Expires" content="-1">
<meta http-equiv="Cache-Control" content="no-cache">
<!-- end no cache headers -->
<!-- P3P thing -->
<link rel="P3Pv1" href="http://www.akheva.com/w3c/p3p.xml">
<meta http-equiv=P3P content='CP="NOI NID CUR OUR NOR"'>
<!-- /P3P thing -->
Thank you all, by the way, for taking your time and helping me out with this issue. It's a real headache. Who the hell needed this P3P stuff anyway? It was all working just fine without it. Lol.

Re: Cannot log in through a frame?
Yeah It didn't work!
You'll probably have top install a proper P3P policy for your entire site and the login cookie.
Sorry I cannot help you any further than this!

P.S. Please let me know if you are able to fix it by sending a PM.

Re: Cannot log in through a frame?
Thorn,
You know you could remove this problem by removing the restrictions on the HTML length for the header and footer.
Then people could place their top frame and bottom frame in the header and footer and we wouldn't need to run third party cookies through the frame on a local page.
I'm currently considering two messageboards for my 5000+ visitors of a support site: Akheva and Aimoo.
Depending on which can service our needs, will get our support and daily visits. Our current messageboard receives 140+ messages per day.
Hope you can accomodate,
Matt

Re: Cannot log in through a frame?
Apparently, there is no way to make cookies work over framed content from a third-party site with IE6.
This is there by design.
Only way to make it work is to fiddle with client's (IE6) security settings, but no way to make it with P3P (compact policy or not) or otherwise.
Sorry guys. This stuff took me 2 days to figure out and unless Micro$oft decides to change the default behaviour of IE6, there is nothing I can do.
Congratulations to Microsoft for abusing their de facto monopoly again, and creating a major pain in the ass for webmasters all over the world.
What I do not understand, is the reasoning behind it. Run Doubleclick out of business, like some people argue? I have no clue, but this is certainly why I will most likely register my Opera browser. It costs some money but at least it provides a viable alternative to Microsoft's browser software and helps fight the evil monopoly.

Re: Cannot log in through a frame?
Hmmm. Seems to be working now.
I am using IE6 with its default setting and am posting this through a frame.

Re: Cannot log in through a frame?
Good lord. I have no idea why it is working, but what I know for sure, is that I'm NOT touching the P3P settings of Akheva now, even if with a gun against my head.
