Nobody should have to make several comments just to accomplish this, and risk having someone else comment in between before you're finished.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Lesigner Girl)Thu, 06 Dec 2018 11:29:49 +0000 Re: Making Message Boards Popular Again!https://bakheva.runboard.com/p298570,from=rss#post298570https://bakheva.runboard.com/p298570,from=rss#post298570The social media experience is a gathering and party experience in style and format. You meet and wander from conversation to conversation. The closest thing to a message board in the social media is a closed FB group, and FB is adding "features" to those to make the closed group resemble, in some ways, a message board community.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Pastor Rick)Sun, 02 Dec 2018 13:56:09 +0000 Re: Making Message Boards Popular Again!https://bakheva.runboard.com/p298569,from=rss#post298569https://bakheva.runboard.com/p298569,from=rss#post298569Oh yes, PR, that’s the thing with Instagram and the like - it’s not like a small community where it’s (fairly) easy to keep up-to-date with everything. I also love the ability on forums to see posts from previous decades, whereas it’s a struggle to find a comment you wrote five days ago on Instagram. Firle, I can imagine as an author (and seller) how strongly you would feel about this! It’s a shame that the focus is on “online shops” now, for many business That is true Jox, and I guess one of the fundamental reasons i love forums so much is that the lack of images doesn’t really bother me. It’s also just the “vogue” I suppose. It’s a shame, because I try to advertise Runboard to my friends sometimes but none of them ever get it!!! And don’t get me started on the fact that most social-media poss are so unoriginal - “They did surgery on a grape”. OMG LOL I’m ROFLing. Not. Yes, I know it’s a bit hypocritical to have Instagram running on my phone as I say this, but.. Thanks for the responses! nondisclosed_email@example.com (Messup434)Sun, 02 Dec 2018 07:05:33 +0000 Re: Making Message Boards Popular Again!https://bakheva.runboard.com/p298568,from=rss#post298568https://bakheva.runboard.com/p298568,from=rss#post298568I think its that you can upload images to the post/thread without having to use another site and linking to it, or using BBC codes. *shrugs* nondisclosed_email@example.com (Joxcenia)Sun, 02 Dec 2018 01:14:00 +0000 Re: Making Message Boards Popular Again!https://bakheva.runboard.com/p298566,from=rss#post298566https://bakheva.runboard.com/p298566,from=rss#post298566I'm trying to point out to people that having a decent discussion or even a continuing thread is so much easier on a message board than on a place like FB. Also any teaching situation is much better located at a message board.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Firlefanz)Sat, 01 Dec 2018 11:20:54 +0000 Re: Making Message Boards Popular Again!https://bakheva.runboard.com/p298564,from=rss#post298564https://bakheva.runboard.com/p298564,from=rss#post298564Message boards are communities. Communities of people who like what you like and organized so others can easily fit in and contribute. Social boards usually are chaotic and require regular visitation to stay in the loop.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Pastor Rick)Sat, 01 Dec 2018 02:13:31 +0000 Making Message Boards Popular Again!https://bakheva.runboard.com/p298562,from=rss#post298562https://bakheva.runboard.com/p298562,from=rss#post298562Well, I'm always sad with the inactivity I've seen on so many of the boards that I once took-part in.. so let's disguise my ranting as positive brainstorming Basically just post ideas you have to advertise a board or the idea of message-boards in a way that makes people interested. I don't know why, but when I describe boards, people always say they sound boring So my ideas might be best kept off this list But I really don't know how to promote them - perhaps there're just no boards that hold interest for these people? I suppose there're not many meme forums, as people who use boards and people who use more current social-media are often in two separate crowds. It'd be good if some of the more mainstream social-media had forums, to show people how cool they can be nondisclosed_email@example.com (Messup434)Fri, 30 Nov 2018 17:54:20 +0000
