Susa, is your notepad a touch screen?

Touch screens can be nice, but I hate touch pads that are located where I would normally put my palms. I use a separate keyboard with my laptop, because I like the action on the keys much better than the laptop keys. Also, I don't think there's a way to disable the touch pad on my laptop, and I have the same problem with it that Firle has if I try to type on the laptop's keyboard. I also have a 2nd monitor that's 27", which I got so I could multi-task more easily, and also for watching TV, movies, and other videos online. I could actually close the lid on my laptop and still use it with the external keyboard, mouse, and monitor. emoticon

Jox, that's neat. I may try that on my notebook. It runs Linux, so I'm not sure that will work.

Lesa, yes. I have a couple of scenarios for my desktop: Switch it over to Linux once Win7 loses support. And replace it with a powerful laptop and a docking station when it finally is no longer viable. (I breathed new life into it by giving it more RAM about a year ago.)

I use the touch pad. It took me awhile to get the settings right so that I had no jumping around.

I hope it works for you. If not, you still have what's working for you right now.
