Adding Border?

Hiya emoticon
wondering...
What code is needed in order to add a border to each side .. ? Most likely will be a URL in a solid color that I can change out when I change up bkgd , etc.

Re: Adding Border?

Hi Autumn,

I added some borders down the sides for you. Did I do it the way you wanted?

What I did was add a line to your CSS, which I have marked in red below:

/* DEFINES BODY COLOR FONT AND POSITION */
body {
  margin: 1em 0;
  font-family : verdana, arial, tahoma;
  font-size : 12px;
  border: solid #f5deb3; border-width: 0 10px;
}

You can change the hex code there to change the color, or change 10px to whatever color you want it to be.

Try not to make it too wide, because you don't want it to take up too much space on phones.

I took that color from your heading background, which looks like this: ██████████

Some colors that are in your current banner are:

██████████ #8c0000 (red from leaves)
██████████ #742b00 (dark brown on cat)
██████████ #f96002 (middle of pumpkin)
██████████ #ff951b (background color behind everything)

You can only turn off karma for your own board. Is that what you want to do?

PS: I do not like karma very well and have it turned off in my boards.

Yes. ...On my own board. How do I do that?

While I'm thinking of it I could use the CSS code that brings you directly back to the post, after you post.🙂

Re:

You can turn off the karma in "Set misc options" for your board.

You can automatically come back to your topic after posting. Go to your personal control panel under "Change miscellaneous options". Click on "Forum options" and then check mark "Redirect to topic after posting". Be sure to click on "Save settings" at the bottom of the page. That is controlled by each user.

CSS doesn't work that way.

CSS is the acronym for Cascading Style Sheets.

The key word here is Style.

The purpose of CSS is to make things pretty. That's all, nothing more.

Where a person is redirected to after they post is an individual choice, and rightfully so. Some people prefer to be redirected to the thread they just replied to, either to re-read what they posted, or to see if someone else replied while they were posting.

Others might prefer to leave the thread after they post and go back to the topic list, so they can go directly to the next unread topic. Maybe they don't care if anyone else posted while they were posting, or maybe they kept a mental note of how many replies there were before they posted their own reply, so they can go back into the topic if that number has increased by two instead of one.

Trust your members to make their own decisions. Whether they want to be redirected to a particular place after they post, or whether they want to see profanity, it's ok if their preference is different than your own.
