Page is too wide

SOME members of my board are saying this:

quote:

the problem with the pages being way, way too wide, it will be that way for a whole page and then it will go correct again on the next page~! I just assumed it was my fault, somehow, as no one else ever mentioned this. I can live with it but is is time consuming to see who is posting..scroll read ..scroll again.. read...and sometimes it takes way over to read that line and then...scroll back and back and back then scroll and scroll for another line.~!

I, myself am not experiencing any problem. Do you know what the problem could be? Is it a setting on their OWN computer?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Have them try one of these options:

1) Click & Hold ctrl plus 0 then release.
2) Click on View ... Zoom ... Reset.

If this doesn't work, come back and let us know and maybe someone will have something else to try.

It's browser window thing. But it is one you can exercise some control over in the boards CSS.

I added a "container" to your boards CSS to show you how it is done. Feel free to ask questions or remove the "container" if I misunderstood your question.

Thank you so much for all your help.

Pastor Rick, I wasn't having a problem myself, but I will see what happens in the morning. Again, thank you.

Re:

Help, Pastor Rick, I think I must have lost the "container". Page is really wide. Also, is it possible to put a BACK TO TOP button on?

Re: Re:

When you get it set back up right, copy/paste the CSS & HTML into either a hidden thread or a thread on a hidden board, or on a test board.

I'm not good at CSS, but I'll see if I can find the info you need.

Re: Re:

Okay. Go into your HTML page:

At the top of the top box add:

<div id="container">

And at the bottom of the bottom box add:

</div><!-- end container -->

Go into your CSS page:

At the top of the box add:

#container {
 width: 80%;
 margin: 0 0 0 203px; /* top right bottom left */
 padding: 0;
 }

You can change the 'numbers' to whatever %/px you think looks best for your board. You should probably do this on a test board. Or wait for someone with better CSS skills to help you with it.

Re:

Thank you so much. I think I deleted the HTML as the CSS was still in there.

I don't know why I didn't copy and save that one, but I didn't. I had copied everything else.

Again, thank you.
