Why should I expect to see a physical incarnation of something I don't believe in? My Mom's friends asked me to tag along, but I'd been up all night running to the bathroom. Anyhoo, one of the friends called me afterwards and said she had slept through most of the movie. What she described didn't sound like a real/true Christian movie to me. Not having seen it, I won't make any judgment about it. But, when it comes on any of my DirecTv channels, I will give it a watch to see for myself what opinion I will have of it. I was told it was based on a book, but I already have way too many in my TBR piles, so I'll wait until after I've seen the movie to decide if I want to give it a read. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Joxcenia)Sat, 11 Mar 2017 22:10:10 +0000 The Shackhttps://bakheva.runboard.com/p294486,from=rss#post294486https://bakheva.runboard.com/p294486,from=rss#post294486I went to see this movie based on a radio talk shows comment that it was not an obvious Christian Film. The opening scenes then had me thinking it would be a Christian bashing film which I knew I wouldn't appreciate. That changed as the movie progressed and tragedy occurred in the family. What followed was a series of scenes where the lead actor meets God in the same shack where tragedy, took place. The theology is off balance since the movie was dealing with a single attribute of God and stumbled with the questions and challenges you would expect to see if you actually did face a physical incarnation of God. It is an obvious Christian film but the story is good, the camera work is solid, and the acting is above the average normally encountered in your typical two-dimensional film. All in all, I would say it is a good film and one of the better ones when it comes to dealing with pain and suffering. Flawed in several ways but a decent springboard for anyone seeking answers. Entertainment value I place at somewhere between three and four stars (on a 5 star scale).nondisclosed_email@example.com (Pastor Rick)Sat, 11 Mar 2017 17:11:50 +0000
