Increasing the number of topics per page

The idea being that there are only 21 topics shown per page. That means topics quickly pass off the default first page, and are not likely ever seen again because most people do not go on to page 2 or more.
If there was a way to show more like 40 topic on the first page, one would likely have to scroll down, but at least they would easily be able to see more topic and each topic could essentially last longer before being ignored.

If you want to see the discussion where Noserose, the owner of Political Grill ...two, is asking about this, here is a link.
,offset=40][sign in to see URL],offset=40

I assume there is a css file with a template for the table of topics, but I am not an admin for this board, so can't experiment.

If someone has a suggestion as to how to do it currently, then please let Noserose or me know. Or if someone else can do it, you might want to confirm with Noserose she really wants it. Or let us know if that is impractical for some reason.
Thanks.

When upgrading a community to premium, you will buy a credit of premium page views. The base unit is 100 000 page views, and this costs 25 dollars US, or 25 euros. All purchases must be multiples of 100 000 page views. An average board will only need to purchase one base unit per year or two. A busy board will of course eat through these credits much more quickly - all depends on the traffic to your board.

How long premium credits last is affected by your settings. You can make them last longer by having logged out viewers see advertising.

I February I thought I signed up for 2 years of premium status, but our board dropped back down to only showing 20 topics per page?

I don't believe any settings changed on our side of the board?

Any idea what happened?

I just looked at your board and it has no premium credits. Also, the setting was never set to "Display ads to logged out users" and when this setting is not ticked the premium credits go very fast.

A board cannot buy 2 years of Premium Credits. A board can buy 100,000 page views or more.

You, on the other hand can buy more than one year as a Premium User and I see that you are a premium user. Did you buy 2 years worth for yourself, rather than for the board you post on?

Edited to fix typo.

It was 6 months ago so I really do not remember the details.
However, we did get the 40 threads per page until just last week, so I believe it was premium board features we purchased.

However, I am not the administrator, Noserose is. So I can't set the display ads to logged out users. And that is not a very logical way to run it. Why should it matter if people are logged out or not, and why base it on the number of page views, which the board has absolutely no control over?

I can ask Noserose to give me temporary access, or we can try to explain it to her.
But a little more in the way of details would be nice. It is not very logical the way it has been described so far.

Here is the link to Noserose.
#misc]link to Noserose.
I guess I don't mind paying up again, but obviously I don't want it to only last 6 months again.

Re:

If you don't want it to last only 6 months, be sure that the setting is set to "Display ads to logged out users" because when you buy Premium for a board you are buying page views. The busier the board (more page views), the more it costs Runboard to host the board. That is why there are ads on non-Premium boards. It is to pay for the board's page views. How busy your board is with page views determines how long the premium lasts. Therefore, it makes sense to display ads to logged out users and therefore not let them use up your premium.

Also, the fact that you, Rigby5, bought your own personal premium membership means that none of your page views count for the board you are posting on. That also saves the board page views. If most regulars bought their own personal premium, the board would stay premium a much longer time.
