Re: font size

Welcome to Runboard, Chickadee!

I hate to contradict Jox, but the directions she posted were specific to a different layout that the other board was using.

Since you don't currently have custom CSS at your board, those directions won't help.

I'll write some new CSS and directions for you, and post it as soon as it's done.

Jox, thank you for trying.

Re: font size

Here you go, happycanuk1.

Go to your control panel in a separate tab, so you can keep this page open at the same time for the CSS (styling code) and instructions. Follow the instructions Jox posted in her 2nd quote, to get to your custom CSS.

Copy the CSS in this post, and paste it in to the big, empty box.

The CSS I am posting here uses the same sizes that are currently there by default, so you'll need to change those sizes to your liking after you paste it in. You might want to add 4 to every number for starters (because font size in posts is 12px by default), then look around your board to see if everything is a good size.

Make sure you only change the numbers. Do not delete, add, or change any punctuation, brackets, or letters, unless you know what you're doing.

After you change the font sizes, click on "Submit CSS Preferences."

After you submit that, there will be a link at the top right corner of the next page that says, "Go to the board (name of your board)." Open that link in a new tab, then take a look at every page of your board. You might want to create a poll so you can check that, post a quote so you can check that, and look at the "New Post Added!" message when you add a post, before it redirects you. Don't forget to also check the member list, the search results page, and any other page I might be forgetting.

After you have done all of this, if there are specific areas where you want a different font size, make another post here and be as specific as you can, and we can help you with that.

I hope this helps! emoticon

Thanks for your help, both of you.

Is there anyway to increase the post size or do we just have to use BIG everytime. Sorry, no experience in any of this CSS.

I can't help you any further. Sorry. I'm sure Lesa or Pastor Rick will be by to help out.

Hi happycanuk1,

Yes, CSS is the way to increase the post size for everyone. You can even make BIG bigger with it. Lesigner Girl posted the CSS you need to copy and paste. I don't have global powers so I can't go in and do it for you. It is actually easy to do so please do not be afraid to try. PLUS, LG is really good at fixing things if you do make a mistake that messes things up.

You're welcome, happycanuk1. emoticon

What Rick said. If you mess anything up, you can just remove everything from your CSS, and everything will go back to the way it is right now.

The font size in posts is 12px by default. If you change 12px in the CSS I gave you to 16px, this will automatically make the text in posts 16px, as well as other text that is currently 12px by default.

If you prefer, I can go in and make these changes for you. I already have the access as a global admin, but it might take me up to 24 hours to get around to it, and I will only do it with your consent.

Pastor Rick also has the knowledge to do this, but not the access, unless you make him an admin of your board. If you are in a hurry and if he can get to it before I can, you can trust him to make him an admin to make these changes.

I highly recommend that you try it on your own first. Since there is currently nothing in your custom CSS, it would be very easy to revert everything back to the way it is right now by simply removing everything from your custom CSS.

Yes, please do that. I would appreciate it very much. We are a group of seniors and some have poor eyesight, and the larger font (I think 18 is a good size in posts). It seems like it is still small, to me.

Thank you so much for your help.

Pastor Rick, it would be great to have you come help out. I can't find the setting for the reply box or to make the font larger in the reply box. I have changed the others to how we want them.

Thank you

Re: font size

I see you successfully added PR as an admin, and he has made at least most of the changes you asked for. emoticon Thanks, PR! emoticon

Are you satisfied with the changes, happycanuk1, or are there some areas where you would like the font size changed? Either PR or I can make the necessary tweaks, but we need to know where to make them.

Cheers! emoticon
