Pages Not Read
Okay, not very important, but it would be cool to have a feature implemented to tell you if you haven't seen a post on a previous topic page. I've just had quite a few occasions where I don't read the tenth post on page 1, because there's already a page 2 so I could have missed something. I know I could just check the previous page, but I'm lazy And I might forget to.
Do you know what I mean? New fun feature suggestion coming right up!
--- What should I put here?

Re: Pages Not Read
I understand what you mean by looking at the last page and forgetting to see if there are any unread posts on previous pages, but do you have any ideas on how to implement that?
I thought there had been a suggestion to have the 'unread' arrow go to the first unread post instead of to the last post, but I don't see that suggestion in the index. Is this the kind of thing you would like to see?

Re: Pages Not Read
I would love to see an "unread arrow" feature that could be turned on and off depending on my mood when visiting a board.

And alerts to edited posts. That was the one thing I liked at ezBoards. Especially as an admin. No one could edit an old post without it being noticed.

Yeah, that was pretty much my idea on how to implement that

Re: Pages Not Read
I think it would be good to go to the first unread post, instead of to the last post. People don't always remember to check previous pages for posts they might have missed, like you said, but it's always obvious when there is another post after the one you just read.
Edit: Speaking of missing posts, I missed these:
quote: I would love to see an "unread arrow" feature that could be turned on and off depending on my mood when visiting a board.
Are you saying you don't always want to know when there are new posts?

I don't remember that feature there, but I think it would be a good feature to have.

Correct, when time is extremely short I don't want to feel obligated to check every unread post on the visit. I do want the option to check back later though so I don't want the "unread posts icon" to vanish the way the "new posts icon" does...

Yeah. And when you clicked on the icon it took you straight to the edited post. And if there were more than one, they each were marked with an icon that noted they had been edited.

Are you saying you want to have each individual post marked as read as you scroll to it? If so, I'm thinking AJAX might be necessary, but I can see where such a feature would be handy if there are a lot of unread posts in a topic since the last time you visited, and you only have time to read some of them.

That sounds handy.

Re: Pages Not Read
Yeah. I really do miss that feature. Though when I first joined ezBoards it got on my nerves. When I wasn't an admin. Though, it was nice sometimes to catch what Gabbin, Phalon and the others liked to slip in just to see if anyone would notice.
