I know we are speaking about making a board a Premium board. There are two places to make that happen.

1.After a board's creation, you have 30 days of "complimentary premium benefits." After 30 days a button appears at the bottom of the message boards control panel giving you the ability to purchase premium credits for the message board.

I'm guessing this is my problem - and it also explains why I don't have the Purchase premium credits button at the bottom of my control panel.

So, I assume after 29 more days, this button will magically appear on my control panel.

Thanks Pastor Rick.

I have one other question.

My avatar displays properly on this board - but on my board it seems to get thrown out of proportion where it looks kind of squished together.

Seems to be some kind of problem with the avatar size settings that I'm guessing are preset somewhere.

I've looked all through my board management control panel and I can't find a tab or window to adjust the height & width ratio settings for my avatar on my board.

Any suggestions?

For your Avatar you can go to your board's control panel and click on the button I marked in red:--Log in or sign up to see linked image content--

You can scroll down to the Avatar settings, and if you like the setting here, then you would enter 115 in the first box and 150 in the second box.

There is also a way to exert greater control on the Avatar image using CSS which I can share with you if you like.

Big suggestion, do NOT use PhotoBucket's free account option. They will get around to holding your pictures for ransom and insert a repulsive image everywhere you use your pictures outside of the Photobucket website (they even make that substitution on their site occasionally which is the height of insults IMHO).

Let me check where you suggested and see where that leads.

Reference Photobucket - I have a paid subscription with them.

That should fix your avatar, but it will mess up others' avatars. You really need it fixed in your CSS. I wrote earlier, today, for help on that. Help will come soon. It needs to be a more flexible sizing.

I tried the code I have from my board, at your board, but it doesn't work there, so we need to wait for help.

I think the key thing was finding the right place to change the avatar Width/Height settings that Pastor Rick pointed me too.

I adjusted my board's avatar settings (after trying several different H/W combos) to 175W x 100H and that looks to be perfect.

I am a pretty proficient operator - but I don't know much at all about coding.

If you can come up with a CSS code/script that works Susa, I'll give it a shot.

Thank you both for the help.

The CSS snippet to deal with the avatars would be something like this:

.ak_msg_post_table img {
    height: auto;
    width: auto;
    max-width: 175px;
}

That sets things up so that if you have a "rambunctious user" who picks a four or five hundred pixels width picture then the CSS would take the display down to a size that won't break your layout. I chose 175px since you said that works for you. emoticon

Hi Big Blue,

I highly recommend using the CSS Pastor Rick gave you, and disabling the restriction in the miscellaneous settings section. Like Susa said, if you set the board's avatar size to 175x100, this would fix your avatar, but it would distort most other people's avatars.

I added some similar, but slightly different CSS just now. I specifically targeted images with "Avatar" as their alt, instead of targeting any image in the "ak_msg_post_table".

I like that! It makes things easier to work with if a board owner decides to use graphic custom titles in their board design. emoticon
