Oh no I would not come close to a wild dingo that's for sure.

Firlefanz how long ago where you in Australia?

And Lesa when did you visit?
I've got some real nice pics of animals but my niece from Holland is in most so can't post them here without her permission.

I love traveling in this big country and have done a lot. Still not seen it all though but then when you raise a family and all that goes with it, money can be tight. So now that my lot have grown up and left the "nest", it's time I planned my next adventure.

Initially had planned to do a trip up north-west but then my car broke down and one thing after the other went wrong with it, so those plans are now slotted in for next year. Best time to travel north is during our autumn/winter season as that is the dry season up north.

We've just started our Spring season so will do a few short trips south-west instead lol. The state of WA where I live is the biggest state of this country.

I'm confused about that last bit. When you said southwest, did you mean southeast?

Those pictures are from 2011. It's hard to believe it's already been 5 years since I spent 3 months there.

I would love to see your animal pics. Maybe you could crop your niece out of them or pixelate her so she's unrecognizable.

I was in Australia in 2005. We spent most of September first in Sydney, then in a campervan and finally near Melbourne, in Ballarat, where I have a friend.

Those days in the campervan were the best. Loved traveling around the country. Everyone we met was supportive and helpful, it was amazing.

Lesigner Girl no I meant south west, as in the south west of Western Australia.
I will do some posts about Australia on my board and will pixelate her face, that would work so thanks for the tip.

Firlefanz it's great traveling in this big country and when you where here it was just the start of Spring and a great time of year to travel in a campervan.
My old friends of 40 years where born in Ballarat and they then moved to The Netherlands (Holland) with their Dutch parents; which is where I met them.
One out of that family has since moved back to Ballarat with her husband and kids emoticon

The remainder of that family stayed in Holland and I migrated to Australia lol.

Queeny: I'd go for a campervan there anytime. This one was a small Toyota, but perfect for two. Loved every minute of it.
But... I wouldn't want to do it alone.

Re:

I actually traveled for a few months on the east coast 8 years ago and did so on my own.
Met some wonderful people along the way and had a few places where I could drop in and stay too, so that helped.

Then at the end of the trip I drove from from east to west, across the Nullarbor Plain, also on my own emoticon
I blew the cd player in my car hahaha as I was doing a "Thelma and Louise" but it was so much fun.
