Re: The Difference between Friending and Following?

If you're friends, their statuses show up on your timeline and vice versa. Following is more like a one-way friendship, where the follower can see statuses of the followee, but the follower's statuses won't clutter up the followee's timeline Some people have chosen to follow me. I'm guessing it's because of my position at Runboard, but I could be wrong.

Also, friends can use the chat feature to chat privately, but followers/followees can't do that with each other.

Ahhh, I guessed it was something like that.

I think people follow you because your time line is interesting to read. I had a nosy today.

I just looked at my profile while logged out, and found a comment you made to a wall post I made in Sept 2015. Unfortunately, it would take me ages to look for it while logged in because my entries are mixed with updates from friends, so I'll say here that I still enjoy my memory foam pillow. emoticon

It would be nice if comments bumped old wall posts to the top ... or a PM was sent as an alert ... an * popped up at the top of the wall to click on. Or something smarter/better than what I came up with happened to let us know.

Or shut off comments to old wall posts after a certain period of time to keep spammers and such from being missed.

I agree. It would be nice if comments bumped up old posts AND notified the person who posted the status or wall post.

I actually disable comments in blog posts that go beyond the first page, just so nobody will make a comment and wonder why I don't reply.
