Clickable Smilies Coding Request

I completely despise the current coding behind the "Clickable Smilies" table. It runs contrary to just about everything else which makes it a complete and total royal pain to work with as it is now.

Having said that, can we please get the coding to at least follow the same parameters used in the CSS for the totally related "post icon" table?

It has been over a decade now and I still have to go back to LG's "coding hacks/work-a-rounds" and study them just to know what to do for a simple background, header/title, and border set-up!

I don't understand what you're requesting here. A different class name for that table?

Re: Clickable Smilies Coding Request

Set it up so you have:

1. a background panel which then allows
2. a "clickable smiley" header (just like the post-icon table already has) which then both the title and background to be set with borders
3. the .msgform_clickable_smiley_box_b border declarations need to apply to all of the cells, not just the cells having a smiley in them.

Yeah, I know how it sounds and I apologize for that but after a decade of working with this I should not have to keep going to your board and do a refresher on things just to get the same look we have here at RB support (with different colors). I want the coding changed so somebody besides you and Thor can easily figure it out.

I still have not finished that bit on a skin project and if it takes me this long (over an hour) the average board owner doesn't have a chance without help.

Ah. In that case, it's not necessary to make such a request, because if/when we re-code the boards, it won't be coded at all like it is now.

Thank you for understanding and putting up with my frustration... On the plus side, searching for the elements that deal with the clickable smilies caused me to find a cool element I was not looking for (and totally unrelated) but which has some cool potential in skin design. emoticon
