If he removes that pic from the header, he might want to make those headings and separators match the other image.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Lesigner Girl)Mon, 26 May 2014 17:41:02 +0000 Re: It's never easy!https://bakheva.runboard.com/p286842,from=rss#post286842https://bakheva.runboard.com/p286842,from=rss#post286842That pic at the top is what he thought would be the banner. He had no idea how to use the themes banner feature and was trying to use the edit/layout menu with what I think are the default settings... I don't know if he wants to keep that bit or not though...nondisclosed_email@example.com (Pastor Rick)Sun, 25 May 2014 22:03:05 +0000 Re: It's never easy!https://bakheva.runboard.com/p286840,from=rss#post286840https://bakheva.runboard.com/p286840,from=rss#post286840quote:it is hard to tell on a light background if what you did is a fade to dark or light It fades to transparent. I'm glad the board owner is happy with what you've done, and it does look good, but what about the banner at the top? The image itself looks good its actual 611×201px dimensions, but I can't read it at 500×40px.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Lesigner Girl)Sun, 25 May 2014 21:29:44 +0000 Re: It's never easy!https://bakheva.runboard.com/p286839,from=rss#post286839https://bakheva.runboard.com/p286839,from=rss#post286839Sorta, it is hard to describe though. I chose a color in the original pic that was almost the same color as the background and made that color transparent. The idea there was to have the colors of the pic blend in with the background color on the board. The idea on the right side was to have the last part of the original pic fade into the background color. Starting from about 5px right of the text... Your pic starts farther out than that but it is hard to tell on a light background if what you did is a fade to dark or light. I like the data pics promise, I can kinda see where you did the fill in on my transparent bits though (because I know where to look)... Either way the owner is happier and hopeful that the change from the generic theme (which is screaming for an update imho) to something more relevant to what his board is about will help attract some new and loyal members...nondisclosed_email@example.com (Pastor Rick)Sun, 25 May 2014 20:12:29 +0000 Re: It's never easy!https://bakheva.runboard.com/p286838,from=rss#post286838https://bakheva.runboard.com/p286838,from=rss#post286838Are you trying to do this with it? It looks like you either indexed the colors in your image editor, or loaded it back into your image editor after running it through tinypng. Either of those two ways won't give you opacity.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Lesigner Girl)Sun, 25 May 2014 19:48:36 +0000 Re: It's never easy!https://bakheva.runboard.com/p286836,from=rss#post286836https://bakheva.runboard.com/p286836,from=rss#post286836You laugh but just look at my latest creation using stuff I already had: It goes into a "Pro-Black" theme which really needs updating. The message board owner chose a different image for his "separators" and I wanted to try and incorporate some of the "separator" images colors into the text and have the right side of the pic fade into the almost black background...nondisclosed_email@example.com (Pastor Rick)Sat, 24 May 2014 23:19:31 +0000 Re: It's never easy!https://bakheva.runboard.com/p286829,from=rss#post286829https://bakheva.runboard.com/p286829,from=rss#post286829  nondisclosed_email@example.com (Lesigner Girl)Sat, 24 May 2014 15:06:21 +0000 Re: It's never easy!https://bakheva.runboard.com/p286825,from=rss#post286825https://bakheva.runboard.com/p286825,from=rss#post286825And when none of that works I make a fool of myself and draw something which is never exactly what I want but gets the idea over. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Pastor Rick)Sat, 24 May 2014 01:19:53 +0000 Re: It's never easy!https://bakheva.runboard.com/p286821,from=rss#post286821https://bakheva.runboard.com/p286821,from=rss#post286821I usually "Google" first.
