But the way I ended up with the image required no drawing on my part. Hey! This makes a good topic starter for my "work in progress" board. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Pastor Rick)Wed, 12 Feb 2014 18:16:08 +0000 Re: Da blinking smiley!!!https://bakheva.runboard.com/p285861,from=rss#post285861https://bakheva.runboard.com/p285861,from=rss#post285861It might be easier to re-draw it than to fix it. See the light jaggies at the bottom? That's caused by having a white background at some point. It needs to never have a background. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Lesigner Girl)Wed, 12 Feb 2014 11:33:17 +0000 Re: Right arrow for location...https://bakheva.runboard.com/p285859,from=rss#post285859https://bakheva.runboard.com/p285859,from=rss#post285859I know, I know... Right now, each frame is 400ms. If you change all those frames to 100ms, that might be about the right speed. You can also tell it to optimize for gif, and it should reduce the file size from 2kb to 1.26kb. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Lesigner Girl)Sun, 09 Feb 2014 04:34:39 +0000 Re: Dancing smiley...https://bakheva.runboard.com/p285840,from=rss#post285840https://bakheva.runboard.com/p285840,from=rss#post285840I created another smiley... this one I call "dance" It seems to be dancing in slow motions though and I have not figured out how to speed it up yet... nondisclosed_email@example.com (Pastor Rick)Sun, 09 Feb 2014 03:17:59 +0000 Re: Re:https://bakheva.runboard.com/p285807,from=rss#post285807https://bakheva.runboard.com/p285807,from=rss#post285807quote:Susa wrote: It looks perfect now! Fixed the smiley size in frame 4. That pixel on the right was a mistake, I was thinking the left smiley would be hugging back but it didn't work the way I thought it would so the last bit of that idea is now gone. Yes, the right smiley is "squeezing" the left smiley with the hug so there is supposed to be a hand on the left hand side in frame 4. Here is the latest version incorporating all the fixes: quote:nondisclosed_email@example.com (Pastor Rick)Mon, 03 Feb 2014 00:10:34 +0000 Re: Da blinking smiley!!!https://bakheva.runboard.com/p285803,from=rss#post285803https://bakheva.runboard.com/p285803,from=rss#post285803Frame 4 is missing the black lines on the bottom, and there's an extra pixel sticking out of the right one's back. Also, should there be a hand showing on the left in frame 4? I don't have the original to compare it with, so I can't be sure. Other than that, it's looking good! nondisclosed_email@example.com (Lesigner Girl)Sun, 02 Feb 2014 20:17:45 +0000 Re: Da blinking smiley!!!https://bakheva.runboard.com/p285802,from=rss#post285802https://bakheva.runboard.com/p285802,from=rss#post285802It's a little smaller (filesize wise), a little faster, and doesn't blink anymore... quote:nondisclosed_email@example.com (Pastor Rick)Sun, 02 Feb 2014 05:16:48 +0000 Re: Da blinking smiley!!!https://bakheva.runboard.com/p285801,from=rss#post285801https://bakheva.runboard.com/p285801,from=rss#post285801I don't think there's really a right way or wrong way to do it, as long as it turns out the way you want it. There are easier and harder ways, and yes, optimizing before exporting as gif is good because it cuts down on file size. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Lesigner Girl)Sun, 02 Feb 2014 02:37:31 +0000 Re:https://bakheva.runboard.com/p285800,from=rss#post285800https://bakheva.runboard.com/p285800,from=rss#post285800I do it in Gimp, but don't know if I do it correctly. I think I do, but sometimes I forget to optimize after I have unoptimized.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Susa)Sun, 02 Feb 2014 02:28:07 +0000 Re: Da blinking smiley!!!https://bakheva.runboard.com/p285799,from=rss#post285799https://bakheva.runboard.com/p285799,from=rss#post285799You're welcome, PR. I should make you a video to show how I do it in Gimp, because it sounds like Gimp might be easier than the program you're working with.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Lesigner Girl)Sun, 02 Feb 2014 02:15:25 +0000 Re: Da blinking smiley!!!https://bakheva.runboard.com/p285796,from=rss#post285796https://bakheva.runboard.com/p285796,from=rss#post285796This one is almost a total rebuild from another "hugging smiley" I found on the internet. I was so glad to finally figure out the way to edit it that I actually went a little overboard and started editing each frame. How I missed frame 4 is still a mystery to me though. And all the frames were supposed to be optimized before they were compiled. At least, I thought I did that but it is obvious now that I must have missed a step in the process... Thanks a million Susa and LG for checking it for me. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Pastor Rick)Sat, 01 Feb 2014 23:26:46 +0000 Re: Da blinking smiley!!!https://bakheva.runboard.com/p285795,from=rss#post285795https://bakheva.runboard.com/p285795,from=rss#post285795I couldn't see it on the white background, either. Other notes: It looks like you started with an optimized smiley but didn't unoptimize it before editing. I don't know how much you had to rebuild for the last (top) frames, but since frames 2 and 3 would have been the same as 6 and 5, at least you can copy those over. Also, since frame 1 and frame 7 are the same, you could delete frame 7 and change the frame rate on frame 1 to 600ms. It might knock about .05 - .08kb off the file size. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Lesigner Girl)Sat, 01 Feb 2014 18:52:57 +0000 Re:https://bakheva.runboard.com/p285792,from=rss#post285792https://bakheva.runboard.com/p285792,from=rss#post285792Is that hug the smiley in question?
