if... banner
I made this little banner logo for my "if..." board.
I actually wanted the inner leather circle (the one with 98% of the board's name on it) to be surrounded by a leather belt or coil but couldn't figure out how to do that...

Re: if... banner
I'm sorry, I don't understand. Is this a coding question, or a graphics question?

Re: if... banner
It's a graphics question. I don't know how to twist a picture of leather so it looks like a belt or coiled rope surrounding the first (inner) image...

Re: if... banner
I don't think I've ever done anything like that, myself.

Re: if... banner
Maybe Skokey will see this and show how it's done. If anyone can do it I bet he can...

Agreed. He's the graphics master around here.

Re: if... banner
This isn't exactly what I was shooting for but the contrast is better and the outer oval background now matches my separator graphic so I have a more cohesive look on the design now.
edit because I forgot to include the graphic!

Re: if... banner
The contrast is definitely better on that one.

Re: If...
I remember saying border-radius rules but I am thinking now that it is really the pseudo elements that rule! After playing with them I was able to make a simulated bottom-border width between the .msg_foot_linkbar and the .bottominfoline classes so the bottom border looks like it is only 80% of the width instead of going all the way across the page.

Re: if... banner
CSS3 rules!
CSS2 is like Pong, whereas CSS3 is like whatever the most advanced game platform is today. Yeah, I'm a little behind the times where gaming is concerned.
Edit to add: Try transition, animation, and inverted box shadows. You might like those.
