Re: Getting Nav Bar To Lay Flat
Okay. After my shower, lying in bed, it came to me that I removed the margin you're talking about when I added the new ones. And, yeah, there's no point in playing with it when it clearly won't play well with the other code.

Re: Getting Nav Bar To Lay Flat
Okay. I know it's simple. But that's where I'm at at this moment in time. How does it look to you two?
I googled and found:
http://webdesign.about.com/od/csstutorials/ss/css_layout_sbs_2.htm
http://webdesign.about.com/od/csstutorials/ss/css_layout_sbs_3.htm
I'm thinking of putting a short bar behind the #bottom #top & #down links too. They're hard to see as just text.

Re: Getting Nav Bar To Lay Flat
It looks good.
If you want to try some responsive design with it again, let me know.

Re: Getting Nav Bar To Lay Flat
I'm working on the navigation menu. Here:
http://bnothingtoseehere.runboard.com/
I'm not sure I'm going to go with the bulletin board ... but I played with it just in case I ever think it might come in handy.
I wasn't going to add the images like how I found it on the Mystery skin ... but I've changed my mind. So I will need to wait until I have the images to finish it. I don't have the top image on there, but I think I will when I go to finish it.
Also, I think I want it on the right side of the board. And I want the top of it to be level with the top of the nav bar. Not touching ... but like a couple of close shelves/mantles? Then again, I like the way the banner touches the nav bar, so I may change my mind on that too.
Oh. And I was going to ask about the "separators" and stuff ... do you make it yourselves, or get it from a graphic website?

Re: Getting Nav Bar To Lay Flat
Oh. And I'm going to add different banners to different forums. I've borrowed the code from Whoosh to play around with.

Re: Getting Nav Bar To Lay Flat
Actually. Looking at the board, I think it might look better at the top right. *shrugs* There's more space up there. Yeah. I know. It would work if I decreased the width of the container.

It will be different with and without ads.

The skin creator usually makes the all the graphics for their skins, but sometimes it's a group effort.
If you just want a gradient, you can use the same dynamically-generated svg that's used at the top of every Runboard page, and it will automatically adjust to the size of the thing you're using it for. Just change the 'from' and 'to' for the start (top) and end (bottom) colors. You can use 3-character hex colors or 6-character, but be sure to omit the pound sign, because that's already in the svg file.

Re: Getting Nav Bar To Lay Flat
You know... We could probably do onclicks for that menu, and animate the opening of the sections.

Re: Getting Nav Bar To Lay Flat
That third block looks closest to my board color scheme. I was thinking about the borders and such for the whole board, and not just the navigation menu.

Uh. Okay. I've learned I have to google to understand where you're going.
Are you talking about my menu, or Runboard's menu? If you mean my menu, I think I'm going to need a visual of how it works. I can't picture it in my head.

Re: Getting Nav Bar To Lay Flat
Check out the menu on the left here, and see what you think.

Edit to add:

I picked those colors directly from your color scheme.
