Welcome to Runboard Support, EvergreenDrum. To see the code for posting a picture, just click on the "Quote" link next to my post.

I'll move this topic shortly to this forum, where you can keep testing stuff.

Please let us know if we can be of any further assistance.

Re:

I did the above post as a test to practice inserting an image between a couple paragraphs, before I actually did the real thing in a Forum. I clicked the "Insert image " button above, and then copied and pasted the Photobucket link for an Image (IMG, the bottom one)in the small screen that popped up. As you can see the image did not appear in my post. (I wanted to insert the actual image and not a link to it.) What did I do wrong? Thanks.

P.S. I may get scolded for trying this here, but it may be instructional to others, as well.

Lesigner Girl you are quick! And don't ask why Shirley & Boo Boo Kitty ...... it's a long story. Anyway, I'm afraid I don't understamd. I did find The Trashcan, but I clicked on Quote by your picture and the text of your post came up with the posts in reverse order below. I don't understand about the code for posting a picture. I thought I just had to copy and paste it from Photobucket.

Hey EvergreenDrum! We like to give speedy service around here. emoticon

You said you clicked on the insert image link, and then inserted the code that Photobucket gave you. But when you're using the [img] code they give you, you don't need to use the insert image button here, because this will only duplicate the [img] code.

If you click on the "Edit" link for your post above, you'll see that it has this:

[img][IMG]http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a602/Evergreenpicfile/Drum%20pictures/IMG_0274_zps67845177.jpg[/IMG][/img]

But what you need is this:

[img]http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a602/Evergreenpicfile/Drum%20pictures/IMG_0274_zps67845177.jpg[/img]

Upper- or lower-case doesn't matter, as long as there is one [img] immediately before the image's address and one [/img] immediately after.

I hope this makes more sense, but please let me know if it doesn't. emoticon

Re:

So, I just paste the code directly into the text where desired, and that will eliminate the duplicate [img] code? (The "Insert image" button is a no no.) Is that correct? Thanks.

Oh, question # 2 ..... I did a sort of lengthy instructional text for a forum on a Word document so I could edit it before posting. I know from my first post above that I can copy & paste text, but is there a specific limit on length (it's not too long) and will it automatically go to a 2nd page, if necessary?

Once you move this topic to The Trashcan I'll practice some more.

Yes, you can paste it in directly without using the "Insert Image" button. Basically, it's an either-or thing, and since you're already using code that includes the [img] tags, you don't need to use our button. emoticon

There is a limit on post length, which differs between free and premium accounts. It goes by kilobytes instead of characters, but one letter is pretty close to 1kb.

The limit for free users on free boards is 10kb, while the premium user limit is 250kb, and the limit for anyone on a premium board is 250kb. See here for details.

It won't automatically go to a 2nd post, but if you try to make a post that's over the limit, it won't post anything and you'll get an error message instead.

I'll move this to the Can now. Feel free to practice all you need. emoticon

You're the best. If I wasn't so old and ugly, I'd propose. HA! Anyway, you've helped a bunch, and I'll practice photos and check out the length of some of the posts on the forum which I suspect are free users and see whether I need to upgrade. Thanks again.
