I would think we can close this topic... nondisclosed_email@example.com (Queenyforever)Wed, 13 Feb 2013 14:40:16 +0000 Re: Blank refererhttps://bakheva.runboard.com/p279938,from=rss#post279938https://bakheva.runboard.com/p279938,from=rss#post279938I see it all the time because I'm often on https.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Lesigner Girl)Tue, 12 Feb 2013 22:14:47 +0000 Re:https://bakheva.runboard.com/p279935,from=rss#post279935https://bakheva.runboard.com/p279935,from=rss#post279935I saw the same error message at my board and then it was gone.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Susa)Tue, 12 Feb 2013 21:39:36 +0000 Re: Possible bug....Error message from Quick Replyhttps://bakheva.runboard.com/p279931,from=rss#post279931https://bakheva.runboard.com/p279931,from=rss#post279931I rarely use it, either, mostly because the subject line will just say 'Re:' if it isn't filled in manually.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Lesigner Girl)Tue, 12 Feb 2013 20:23:19 +0000 Re: Possible bug....Error message from Quick Replyhttps://bakheva.runboard.com/p279930,from=rss#post279930https://bakheva.runboard.com/p279930,from=rss#post279930I understand your explanation, but it came back on it's own. I've not seen it now for several posts. And it was only here. I went to 4 more sites, mine included, within minutes (as fast as I could change pages) and never saw it again. But I'll keep my eyes open and do as you say about the 's', if I see that again. I rarely ever actually 'use' the quick reply, but noticed that 'OOPS' message right away... nondisclosed_email@example.com (Queenyforever)Tue, 12 Feb 2013 19:56:45 +0000 Re: Possible bug....Error message from Quick Replyhttps://bakheva.runboard.com/p279928,from=rss#post279928https://bakheva.runboard.com/p279928,from=rss#post279928Short answer: It's not a bug. It's a security feature. Long answer: The quick reply has to know what page you're on in order to submit a reply to the correct topic. In order for it to know, it needs to be able to 'see' what page is sending you there (the referring URL, or 'referer' in techspeak). If you have a firewall blocking referring information, or if you are using the https URL for Runboard, this will give you the error message (which I wrote, and I should probably add the https explanation to that). A firewall's ability to block referrers, and the blocking from https (s=secure) are security features that prevent people from collecting your information via iframes and other means, and there's nothing that can be done from Runboard's end, or from mine as the person who wrote and hosts the quick reply. Since you're seeing the message intermittently, I'm guessing you have probably entered via https, and just need to remove that 's' in your browser's address bar and hit 'enter' to see the qr again.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Lesigner Girl)Tue, 12 Feb 2013 19:47:10 +0000 Possible bug....Error message from Quick Replyhttps://bakheva.runboard.com/p279925,from=rss#post279925https://bakheva.runboard.com/p279925,from=rss#post279925In the last 30 minutes I've posted probably close to 20 or so posts on different sites. But twice here in Support, once in the ANNOUNCEMENTS area, once in the Q&A area I got this message. quote:Oops! Sorry, you can't use the quick reply because your referer information is being blocked. This could be due to a firewall or something else. Just thought you should know. It's gone now. But it did happen twice here at Support.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Queenyforever)Tue, 12 Feb 2013 19:23:52 +0000
