I wonder if it would help to put the word "Navigation" above the board link. If it's something you want to try, this can be done in the custom language set where it says, "location_boardlink", changing this: %2
to this: Navigation:
%2
nondisclosed_email@example.com (Lesigner Girl)Sat, 19 Jan 2013 19:20:29 +0000 Re:https://bakheva.runboard.com/p279238,from=rss#post279238https://bakheva.runboard.com/p279238,from=rss#post279238Thanks! I've corrected the code challenges for the forum jump and it's where it will have to be. It's the last item in the header area. Some of the concerns the ladies have is that they just don't know how to get around. I've posted help topics with grapic pics. I will spend more time with helping. That puts the pull-down menu options in the HTML footer so the only bit in the HTML header is the pull-down menus graphic... I do think the dropbox should use a graphical picture for this when you are talking about setting things close to the forum title location. Or am I misreading something on where you want things to end up?nondisclosed_email@example.com (Pastor Rick)Fri, 18 Jan 2013 04:20:32 +0000 Re: Improvements needed on Runboard....https://bakheva.runboard.com/p279224,from=rss#post279224https://bakheva.runboard.com/p279224,from=rss#post279224Hi Carolyn, Unfortunately, the only places you can put that are either in the header or the footer, because it's too much code to fit into the custom language set. However, CSS can be used to moved it down a bit, so it's more in line with the board name. The following CSS might do it: #jump { margin-bottom: -30px; } Another possibility is to put it in the footer, then use CSS to push it up so it's above the "create your free forum" link on the right. The exact placement with this 2nd option would be different for some people, depending on whether they have their AKSH box enabled, and whether they have access to the moderation options dropbox. If you'd like to try this option, I can work out the code for you.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Lesigner Girl)Fri, 18 Jan 2013 02:52:14 +0000 Re: #6https://bakheva.runboard.com/p279223,from=rss#post279223https://bakheva.runboard.com/p279223,from=rss#post279223I've added the forum jump to the site, but there is already so much html in the header and footer, that I couldn't figure out how to get it to be in the actual forum fields, or someplace below all the header items. No matter where I move it to, it still ends up in the header field. How do I get that into just above the forum list topics? nondisclosed_email@example.com (PurpleLady711)Fri, 18 Jan 2013 02:25:09 +0000 Re: Improvements needed on Runboard....https://bakheva.runboard.com/p279198,from=rss#post279198https://bakheva.runboard.com/p279198,from=rss#post279198I forgot to address the video portion of your point #3. We added YouTube video embedding in 2010, and made it easier to embed them into posts last year. This video explains the current way of doing this: nondisclosed_email@example.com (Lesigner Girl)Tue, 15 Jan 2013 23:38:15 +0000 Re: Improvements needed on Runboard....https://bakheva.runboard.com/p279197,from=rss#post279197https://bakheva.runboard.com/p279197,from=rss#post279197Hi, Joan, and thank you for your feedback. 1. I agree, and have always had to use Google to find content inside posts. Unfortunately, this only works for public forums. 2. There's a known bug with auto-conversion of URLs, but if you preview your post, they will auto-convert into clickable links. Also, for anyone who wants the text to show something other than the URL, the "Insert Link" button on the posting screen will walk you through this process. I don't know how we could make this process any easier (aside from fixing that bug), but would love to hear any suggestions you may have. 3. Making image posting easier would require Runboard to store the images. Image hosting might be feasible for things that are used on a regular basis, like avatars and smileys, but I don't know how feasible that would be for images that are used in posts (of course, I can run it past Thor and see what he thinks). Other than that, there's a button on the posting screen that makes it easy to post images, but it's hosting them that requires the extra step. 4. Can you please clarify? Is someone having trouble getting your board's chat room to work? If so, maybe this FAQ can help. 5. This might already be posted in the Feature Requests forum; if not, I'll be happy to make a note of it. 6. It has always been possible for any board admin to add one of these to their board. Please see this topic at Runboard Extra on how to do this. If you need help, I'll be happy to add it to your board for you. 7. Do you have any suggestions on how we can make this easier than the existing the tools? 8. I'm not always up at 5am or whenever daily backups are done, but I caught a backup recently and think it took less than the stated 20 minutes. Have there been unexpected periods of downtime recently that I'm not aware of? Thanks again for your feedback, Joan. It's always good to know what our members want, so we know what to focus on. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Lesigner Girl)Tue, 15 Jan 2013 23:21:28 +0000 Improvements needed on Runboard....https://bakheva.runboard.com/p279196,from=rss#post279196https://bakheva.runboard.com/p279196,from=rss#post279196We have been on Runboard since 2006 and we have seen hardly any improvements/changes since joining. It is disappointing to see Runboard not progressing. The ladies at our Group (Esther) have several complaints and requests we would like to see improved/added on Runboard. I point out several of our members also belong to other groups on Runboard so it would benefit other groups too. Please review our list and advice if there can be changes made. 1. A better search engine that will search inside the post instead of just the post subject line. 2. Easier way to post links. 3. Easier way to post photos, videos and graphics. 4. Separate chat room that works all the time. 5. Ability to see who is in the same forum (room) with you. 6. A drop down menu that will enable you to go to different forums without always having to go back to the main forum. 7. Easier way to use color, italics, bold, or different size font. 8. Less down time (realizing we need some scheduled down time to maintain board and for new improvement. Thank you!
