My Smilies

Hello! Since I added my sidebox, only half of my clickable smilie table shows. Have to move the curser at every reply.
Thanks in advance!
Jewel

Re: My Smilies

Hi Jewel,

Clickable smileys are arranged in tables that are 5 columns across, and each column can only be as narrow as its widest smiley.

[_______wide_______] [_______wide_______] [_______wide_______] [_______wide_______] [_______wide_______]

[_______wide_______] [_______wide_______] [_______wide_______] [_______wide_______] [_______wide_______]

     [_narrow_] [_narrow_] [_narrow_] [_narrow_] [_narrow_]

     [_narrow_] [_narrow_] [_narrow_] [_narrow_] [_narrow_]

     [_narrow_] [_narrow_] [_narrow_] [_narrow_] [_narrow_]

Adding up the width of the widest smiley in each of your columns, we get:

159 + 160 + 160 + 144 + 151 = 774px, and this isn't including the space in between each column.

You could disable the table (referred to as the 'smiley grid') in your board's miscellaneous settings, but it would look very messy.

You could rearrange your smileys so the widest ones are all in the same column:

[_______wide_______] [_narrow_] [_narrow_][_nar_][_nar_]

[_______wide_______] [_narrow_] [_narrow_][_nar_][_nar_]

[_______wide_______] [_narrow_] [_narrow_][_nar_][_nar_]

[_______wide_______] [_narrow_] [_narrow_][_nar_][_nar_]

[_______wide_______] [_narrow_] [_narrow_][_nar_][_nar_]

[_______wide_______] [_narrow_] [_narrow_][_nar_][_nar_]

And/or you make the ]clickable smileys scrollable with this trick posted over at Runboard Extra.

Let us know how you'd like to proceed, and if you need help with it.

Re:

Well, it was fine until the sidebar. Would moving the sidebar more to the left help?

No, it wouldn't help.

[________________this_________________]

is still the same width as

[________________this_________________]

The only solution is to decrease the overall width. If you want to have a sidebar without making people scroll horizontally on smaller-resolution monitors, you'll need to decrease the width of your clickable smileys, using one or both of the suggestions I mentioned above.
