Re: Having to Manually Mark Forums Read
Thanks for checking it again, Firle. I'll try to do some more testing another time, if any more ideas hit me.

Re: Having to Manually Mark Forums Read
It is still doing it, even after I read all the new topics in it today. I'm thinking about marking it read with the button and then waiting to see when it happens again.
That way, we might be able to pinpoint the cause better than if I hang on to the NEW button for now. Right?

Re: Having to Manually Mark Forums Read
I agree, Firle, marking it as read might help us pinpoint the cause if it happens to you again. Thanks.
Thanks for the input, Erika.

You're Welcome, I doubt it would help, but just so you know its not happening to everyone.

Re: Having to Manually Mark Forums Read
It's better to have more than enough information than not enough information, and some information that might not seem pertinent may actually be.

Re: Having to Manually Mark Forums Read
All right, I marked it as read and I'll be awaiting the next time it happens. I still think your hunch about moving topics might work, but ... it's not happening that often.
I'm using Firefox (10.0.1) on Win 7, so that's more background information.

Re: Having to Manually Mark Forums Read
Moving topics might have something to do with it, but there must be another factor involved that I haven't thought of, too.

Re:
Okay. Q&A has a 'new' next to it, but not 'new' next to any thread on page one. Can you make polls jump to the top? See if that is it. (If there are any polls on the Q&A board that is.)
Maybe I'll click on pages at random to see if I see a 'new' anywhere. <shrugs>

Re:
I checked pages 1-20 and 166-186 and didn't find any polls or a 'new' icon. I 'marked the forum as read.'
