Seattle, Washington..

I decided to post this, since it has been awhile since someone has posted in this forum.

I am pondering visiting, and perhaps one day living in Seattle, Washington.. I was wondering if anyone who lives there, or visited there could tell me about their experiences in Seattle.

I've did a lot of googling on Seattle, and one site will say "Seattle gets a lot of rain", but on the next site I'll get "It is a myth, Seattle isn't even in the top 10 US cities with the most annual rainfall".. So it would be nice to hear about Seattle through someones experiences and not just googling it. lol.

It has been a few years ago now but my wife and I went to a convention in Seattle and the weather then was about the same as what we experienced in Milwaukee Wisconsin. I remember it rained in the mornings the three days we were there and the foliage was the most gorgeous green I have ever seen. My wife and I had a argument on which way to go when the convention was over, I wanted to take the ferry to Vancouver and she wanted to head south to see Mount Rainer. That mountain is totally awesome and worth the trip (which tells you who won the argument emoticon ).

emoticon Thanks Rick.

I don't mind the rain. People around here get on my nerves, because they seem terrified of rain, always creating traffic jams, because they have to pull right up to the door of a business so they don't have to walk much in the rain.

Several sites mention the Freeze where people will be extremely nice to you maybe once, but after that they ignore you.. I wonder how much truth there is in it.. I'm sure it is like that in every bigger city though.

That is strange, I never encountered the "Seattle Freeze" on my trip but then again I was a part of a larger group (300+ people) and we did almost everything together the first two days. That left one day in Seattle where my wife and I were on our own and shopping.

We never had that problem [sign in to see URL] that was many years ago. And the NAVY had a big foot print there, so the people were used to strangers and being accommodating. emoticon

I've heard of the Greys Harbor.. One of my favorite bands got started in that area.. If I wouldn't visit Seattle, I'd love to visit that area.. more for its Grunge Rock history than anything else.. but Washington does look a lot more scenic than the flat clay infested southern Illinois lol.

I'm not sure the freeze actually exists though.. Well I'm sure there would be people that would meet the criteria.. but I think any time you have a large crowd you are bound to find someone who is rather rude.
