aksh premium community

Just a thought... since the aksh is somehow tied to the board you are on as a user what about adding a buy command to allow the purchase of premium board credits for whatever board you issue that command from...

quote:

help - displays this message
cp - go to the control panel. Optional parameter "b" will take you to the board's administration control panel directly, if you are in a board.
pm - go to the PM Inbox. Optional parameter can be a user name (replace any spaces by underscores in it).
mail - Send email PM to the user (replace any spaces by underscores in it).

I had forgotten about that. emoticon To stay consistent, I think it should be buy b for board premium or buy for user premium.

I also think people should be able to renew at any time, without having to wait for their current premium to run out.

The optional parameter would need to change for the cp command to do that (not a biggie)... maybe go with a "c" for community...

Why would it need to be different? "buy" would be the command, and I would think "b" could be the parameter for any command used in regards to the board.

Ahhh... I get what you mean now... what about:

buy u for buying user premium
buy b for buying board credits

In other words there would be no default buy command so users wouldn't get mixed up thinking they were buying one thing but actually buying something else...

Good thinking. It would be good to make people specify in this case, rather than defaulting to 'user'.

In addition, if someone just types in 'buy' without the parameter, it could take them to a page with both choices, with the differences clearly outlined.

I like the idea of the special help page if they don't specify a parameter... maybe this would be another place where my RB Products graphic could be useful emoticon

A table with the same information would be better, for anyone who relies on an aural screen reader, as well as for search engines. Your graphic is very helpful in posts, though. emoticon

If this is workable we could also add one additional command:

buy d Make a donation only. This used to be a option a long time ago but was removed for some reason...
