YouTube sizes for skins
The new Embed Youtube feature is great but you may notice the size breaks some of the custom skins and even a few of the default themes so what do you do? Well have no fear, with just a single line of code in your custom CSS you can customize the display to match your boards theme
So for you own board yo go to Control Panel :: Board management :: Edit colors and theme :: CSS management
and paste this line anywhere you like in the CSS box:
.postlistpostbody iframe {
width: ___px;
height: ___px;
}
Now you will want to change the little red underline to the size that best fits your board, listed below is a small chart of standard YouTube sizes to choose from:
w . | . h
320 x 265
425 x 344 <- Seems to work best on skins with a sidebar.
480 x 385
640 x 505 <- YouTube Default size

Re: YouTube sizes for skins
Nice one PR, I've re-edited my post on how to enter a YouTube post and added some windows with dimensions and CSS code

Re: YouTube sizes for skins
Thanks, the basic info was posted by LG so she gets the credit. All I did was reformat a little bit and post the info here where I think people will probably look when their skin breaks on the default setting.

Re: YouTube sizes for skins
I'm admin to a few boards created here and have looked at posts by members who have posted YouTube stuff where it has exceeded the forum width.
Thanks to LG's code input for YouTube dimension windows I've been able to add suitable CSS code to their boards so that the YouTube embeds don't stretch their forum out of shape.
I've done this to my new skin 'Sherbet' too. I think we should look at our skins we've each designed and add suitable CSS code dimensions so that they too don't expand the forum width.

Re: YouTube sizes for skins
I use 480 x 385 for Illusia, but it doesn't have a sidebar.
Good idea adding this thread here, Rick.

Re: YouTube sizes for skins
I just edited the how-to post to reflect a change that was made to boards. Instead of <embed> and <object> tags, YouTube videos are now embedded via an <iframe>.
