Re: The Halloween Skin

Much thanks to both of you. emoticon

Lol Erika, most of the code does flow right out of my head and through my fingertips. But, there are times when the different browsers don't want to display things the same way, at which time I have to put a little thought into it. If you visit ]the board where we put stuff together, you can see some discussion about that in the Testing Testing forum.

Queeny, you may change anything you want, and I love your banner. emoticon But somehow, something is messed up in Firefox, while it's showing fine in IE. My first instinct says you might have too many </div>s in there since the grass is beside the banner, but I'll have to look through your code before I can be sure of what the actual cause is. I'll try to do that tonight.

As for the text you're talking about, there are no class names for that particular text, so you would have to change the text color for the entire posting table (ak_msgform_master_table), which will also change the words "Subject" and "Message" along with it.

Where you currently have this:

.ak_msgform_master_table { border: 2px solid #000; }

Add a color definition, like this:

.ak_msgform_master_table { border: 2px solid #000; color: #fff; }

If you want "Subject" and "Message" to be black, you will have to change them back through ak_msgform_subject_left_td and ak_msgform_message_left_td. Since there is nothing in that CSS for those, you would have to add it. The best place, I think, would be immediately after the .ak_msgform_master_table line above.

.ak_msgform_subject_left_td, .ak_msgform_message_left_td {
    color: #fff;
}

You know I can also help you in any way possible by viewing and screen snapping via IE7 IE8 and AOL and whatever they use.
I know that board, and see my name there, so me has posted, but I knew that anyway. emoticon

Lesa and Skokey together. AMAZING COMBO.

You are a huge help, Erika! emoticon I've been saying this a lot to you lately, but thanks again! emoticon

Thanks also for the compliment. emoticon I wanted to collaborate with Skokey because my weaknesses are his strengths. I can tweak graphics, but he does a much better job with that, and also has a far better imagination than I do. If I ever make another go of the web development business, I would want him on my team. emoticon

Queeny,
In Flock/MacOSX, it's a total mess.
Graphics out of place or missing and the complete forum master table is missing.

Lesa had to do a lot of tweaking to get it to work in most browsers so any change is liable to raise hell.

We are basically using the same template for all skins in the series so except for changing graphics, the base code will stay mostly the same.

From what I could see, your banner is huge and is being stuffed into a 900 x 250 space.

Lesa, could that cause a problem?

No. Since it is only a background image and the div dimensions are the same, that would have no effect.

I wouldn't say any change, but there are a few areas where a change could wreak some havoc. emoticon

I look at the two new skins and wonder how I am ever going to match the quality in my own skin attempts. They are totally awesome emoticon
