When I said the lifestyle, I mean the lifestyle of the 1970s, not that you were in your 70's. You sound way too young for that.

No you did not say anything wrong! I was laughing...cause I'm 50 but thanks to the internet I can feel young again. I used to work for the School system as a cook and I miss the interaction with the kids......THEY keep you young and on your toes...
So, I am chasing my "70's" (when I was 12 to 22) and I'm chasing the 70 degrees temps. I am tired of being cold and shoveling snow! emoticon

In the words of my favorite singer, "Yeah Grandma!"
My Mom retired from there too....did 35 years! And the kids hated seeing her go...
I was famous for being the "hair" lady....NO NOT IN THE FOOD! emoticon
I used to have VERY long hair. Well we had to have it up and covered in a net for work. SO I made it a point of wearing wild colored nets and/or barrettes or other HAIR things... emoticon
Even at Christmas I'd wear those headbands with either Reindeer antlers or a Christmas Tree WITH bells and decorations.. emoticon
The kids would come by and make me turn around just to see what the heck I had in my hair that day! emoticon
Like, I said......they kept me young! emoticon

The schoolkids were lucky to have someone there who had a sense of fun. emoticon

Kids sense those 'big kids' who understand what an adventure it is to be so young.

More power to you, Queeny and enjoy your post-work life. emoticon

Re: I went to

Thank you WW! I think I had as much fun as they did.....
I remember one Halloween, the kids has these squirt guns in the lunch room. And as they would bring they're empty plates up to the window, the little turkey's would squirt me!
Well, several of them thought that was hilarious, so they started to volunteer to take all the empty plates up....so they could squirt me more often... emoticon
Well, I had this commercial faucet....with this big squirter on it for rinsing off the dishes..
Image

The next time those boys came through, I upended that and gave them a dousing, right through the opened window............and as they ran by....I proceeded to squirt the Principal!!! emoticon Who was chasing them to take away they're squirt guns....
HE stopped......looked back through the window and calmly said....."Somehow, I knew it would be you!" emoticon "And I expect the water on this floor out here gone when I get back" emoticon It was.....but he loved me! emoticon
I guess that is why my website has everyone from older than me.....down to 15 (or 5 if we have a birthday party for one of the members kids!).......I can relate to them all... emoticon emoticon
Now my website keeps me young......and I still occasionally get in trouble! emoticon
