Re: May 30 2008 - Multiple timeout errors

I haven't had any problems getting any Runboards from the Northeast US. There is another site that I can't get from home but I can get from work. Different ISP. Maybe that's why?
Can the rest of you get this picture site?
http://www.pizdaus.com
I've been shut out from here for about a week now.

I can see it, Skokey. The first picture is a satellite orbiting Earth. The 2nd is some mountains and a lake, showing the front of the canoe from which it was taken. The 3rd is a winding staircase from what looks to be a beautiful Victorian-style building.

While PR, VG and I all use different ISPs, it could be that they all eventually send us through some of the same hops than yours does. Thank you for the additional information, Skokey. It gave me an idea for determining in the future whether Runboard is really down or if it's something like what happened last night. Can you access pixdaus through this site? Edit to add: If not, go here and see if you can find another site like that one that'll help you access it.

Hey! Super Cool! That works. Thanks. I also sent an email to my ISP to see if they can do something about it.

Skokey, you might want to try running a traceroute to see where the problem lies. I don't know how to do it on a Mac, though, or even if you can do it on a Mac. On a PC, you would go from the start menu to "command". If there's an option like this on a Mac, type in tracert pizdaus.com from the command line and hit enter.

I also had problems with my board yesterday (31/5/08) throughout the day, it was in and out.

One time the board was un-reachable and came back after 5 mins or so, other times it reported "server being too busy" and that lasted for an hour or so, then came back-up again.

So yep, it was very unstable yesterday.

Re: May 30 2008 - Multiple timeout errors

Thanks, Jalalski. That actually makes more sense to me than what I was previously thinking, since the traceroutes I ran yesterday all seemed to point to trouble with one of waycom.net's servers, which is the ISP that connects Runboard to the internet.

I think I'll see if waycom has any announcements on their site, then send waycom an email if they don't and see if I can learn more about yesterday's problems that way.

Crap. It's in French, lol. Babelfish, don't fail me now! emoticon
