Hi,

I see this in the html section:

That's HTML, but it's not in the HTML section. That's in the board's default code. emoticon

It looks like you figured it out. emoticon

so i want that top image i already have and that back ground image is the same one i posted above i think i just need the pixels changed so it fits. thats what i did for the top banner. ok i lied again thats what my buddy did.
and i don't know how to change the format of j peg nor is my comp good enough it was made in 95.

I managed to get the second one to download tonight, and thought I'd make it tilable. What do you think of this? (I did it before Skokey posted, and just found his post as I was about to make this post).

I also compressed your banner, but Skokey got it smaller without losing any noticeable quality, so we should go with that one. emoticon

How would this work for borders?

Maybe Lesigner Girl could help you code this if you like it. I'm pretty sure these borders will expand and contract as your forum grows and for different screen resolution sizes. Can this be done, LG? I got the idea from your site.

That looks nice, Skokey, and I could easily implement that with a fixed or flexible width, whichever Stage88 might prefer. emoticon Were those uploaded through an account, or should we link to them directly if Stage wants to use them?

Stage, if you want to get an idea how it would look with Skokey's border and the tiled background image, check this out:

You'll have to forgive the quality of that screen grab. I compressed the heck out of it so it wouldn't take too long to upload.

I hosted all the pictures at [sign in to see URL]
You can link directly to them.

Tiling the ships might look better considering that the background will be broken up by the forum list. That way you will eventually see the whole ship.

I can change the colors of the borders or make them narrower if you like.

I think the green looks a little out of place.

I was thinking tiling would be better, too, because of what happens when the page gets taller than the background image... and it will.

I think the width of the knots is fine, but agree about the green. Can you find a color that would tie the banner and ship backgrounds together?

Or... I wonder what it would look like with a transparent background to take the place of the green. That might be hard to do with a gif without a pixelly look against the lighter background, but the IE-only trick for png transparency on old versions of IE wouldn't work with tiling. So, if transparency doesn't look good as a gif, then we're back to a different background color.

Sorry for the rambling, lol. I need to get my butt to bed now.

Thanks for uploading those for him to link to directly. emoticon I didn't use my account to upload the tiled one, so he can link to that one too. emoticon

In case I forget to mention this...

Stage88, after we get the graphics the way you like them, you should still keep copies of all of them on your computer in case something happens with the hosts and you need to upload them again.

Neat idea. I'll work on that one tonight. Are you thinking a grayish smoke against a dark or black background? And the knots still being gold?

Here's what it would look like on your page except this snapshot isn't animated.

Thanks Spirithorse. I don't know all the tricks yet, but with the basics and some ingenuity, I can usually get what I had in mind.
