I just received the 3-D Sudoku Cube and you really need to think outside in for it.

It is a Rubik cube of 3x3x3 cubes, and each face of 3x3 squares is a Sudoku itself. Here's the completed version.

I can solve the Rubik's cube so easily that it's boring, but the Sudoku cube sounds like a good challenge. Maybe I should get one and play with it on my lunch hours. emoticon

The thing about the Rubix is that it is easiest to solve when you first get a set together, for example all blues on one side. Then you start turning them around uand setting up the second color while keeping the blues either on top or bottom, then just repeat with the rest. emoticon

Lol, I learned it with the help of a book, back in the 80's, and it's really just a matter of memorizing a series of moves in order to rearrange 2 or more pieces at a time without affecting the others.

Genius would be figuring it out without the book and figuring out the moves on your own, which somebody else had to do in order to solve it the first time. emoticon
