Ability to Delete more than one post/reply at once

Hi Guys,

Given that we're (board admins) still having problems with the delete function of posts/replies, I had to clean up a thread recently which consisted of about 9 pages and had it reduced to 3 and you can only imagine what I had to go through to delete each reply in that post, go to the control panel and refresh the CSS and Custom HTML fields for that deletion to take effect.

Now, am not complaining about this obvious "bug" and I know the guys at Runboard are looking at it and trying to fix it.

What would have been a useful feature to have and which would save us (board admins) a great deal of effort and time, is the ability to select multiple posts/replies within one thread and mark them for deletion at the same time.

This can be simply achieved by having a selection box visible to admins in each reply for us to select when performing the delete function.

I believe the limit is still set at 5 posts at a time.

Umm. No, that's moving or deleting topics.

Posts can only be deleted one at a time, so far.

I can see how this could be a useful feature. If I had to delete a lot of replies in one thread without it, I'd probably open each "delete" link in a new Firefox tab so I wouldn't have to keep leaving the thread page, then close all the new tabs after the pages have started to load. Another option is to keep using the back button after each delete and you should end up at the same part of the page where you last were, but for me it would also depend on whether the previous page will display immediately at any given moment.

As for the bug...

Can't you just wait until after you've deleted all the replies you wish delete, before saving your HTML or CSS?

I tried that too but because the deletion is not happening real time and the deleted reply doesn't disappear from the actual page and is still viewable, the pages numbers get shifted and some of the replies get pushed up a page, so when you delete all replies contained in one thread page and refresh the CSS and HTML you will end-up with replies from other pages being pushed-up to the page you just finished deleting and it goes on and on.

Ah, that makes sense. Then what if you delete the posts on the last page of a thread first, then the 2nd to last, etc, instead of starting on the first page?

That I haven't tried. I'll do that next time and see what happens.
