Message Flow Revamp

I would like to see the Message Flow page redesigned as a primary Runboard page displaying posts from the last 24 hours instead of the previous ten minutes.

In the redesign, I would also like to see one new column labeled "Message Board" which would display a link to the posters community.

Ooh. Yes. Me want. I got the 'muscle' board from that page when I saw a thread title that gave me pause. If I hadn't, that board would still be up and running.

I had seen a number of newbies join the board, but I didn't look beyond the main page. It was the thread title that had me take a much closer look.

It would also be nice if the blog list could be longer. Right now that page isn't all that busy, but should members start using their blogs a lot, it would be nice to have it scroll down the page.

Or, perhaps it does and I just can't tell because blog posts aren't created enough for me to see how that page works. *shrugs*

It could give Runboard something like a "timeline", which seems to make other social media so enticing.

Exactly right! Should Thor feel like it, he could even put something similar to the iframe widget used on the Keshi Heads message board on Runboards home page. The messages in the flow are always current, so there is no chance of a new user popping over to a dead community. emoticon

This probably should go in a new thread ... but I think dead boards should be archived to prevent newbies from posting on them. They have the potential to become spammers playgrounds. When the owner or admin comes back to give it another try, they can click a button to take it out of the archives. *shrugs*

Or perhaps the last 50 or 100 posts, instead of posts made within the last X number of minutes? At our slowest time of the day/night, we may only have one or two posts within the last 10 minutes, but if we ever become as busy as we used to be, every post within the last hour might be overkill.

I also agree with Jox that it would be good to show more than 10 of the last blog posts.

Yes, it deserves its own thread, so I started one here. I agree that this would be good.
