It is quite likely that you're having trouble because of a third party element that's not loading.

It could be graphics, but it could also be a fancy clock, some gimmick, something else that uses a non-runboard server.

Firle is right. It could be that a third-party element isn't loading, or a third-party host is running slowly.

It's also possible that everyone experiencing the issue is running the same unrelated program - like AVG or Avast - that may have updated recently and is bogging down everyone's machines, combined with pages that contain a lot of animated smileys.

Years ago, I had an old computer that couldn't handle pages with a lot of animation, so I had to disable images completely just to post at message boards that had a lot of animated smileys.

In the past, when I had similar problems, it was due to an outdated plugin. Usually flashplayer? Or shockwave? If I updated the browser without plugins, and then reapplied them one by one, the problem was resolved.

I got rid of my clock and have stopped the animation on a lot of my smileys. I am not done with that yet, though, but close to done. I only kept the animation on smileys with a very small file size. It is still happening on my board. Was this ever reported to Thor? It seems to have started this past Sunday or Monday. Did he change anything?

I have had a board full of animation for 12 years and not had this problem.

I just don't understand why it started all the sudden.....Susa's smilies have always been there, and I never had a problem till this week and it's only on Susa's and Anne's...I went to another 5 sites and there was no problem on them.... emoticon

He added a class to the body tag on Saturday morning. Although it uses javascript, I doubt that would affect it. Besides, I had no lag at Susa's board right now when I typed in her reply form. Are you sure you're not all using the same browser, plugin, or antivirus, etc., that recently updated itself?

I have found that 4 of us having issues are using Chrome. I don't know about other people. I just asked on the Chrome forum about this issue.

It may have been Chrome....as I believe Susa said it had updated...umm, yesterday and now I believe we can use it again. Mine was slower this morning...no where near as bad as it was though!

And now, I think I have a Chrome person coming to my board to try to post. I found them on Chrome support. We will see what happens. Another poster this morning still had issues posting with Chrome.
