Re: What's most frustrating on RB?

Jox, I figured that was probably what happened.

Pat, I did some testing, and the 5-second flood control feature seems to be working exactly as it was intended. Does this happen more in some threads or forums than in others? For instance, does it happen often in your Emote Games forum, but never happen in your Gardening forum?

Pat, are you posting very short replies or are you writing long ones?

There is a program that prevents really fast posting - 5 seconds - to battle spam.

So post, count to ten, and only then post again. See if that helps.

Exactly what Firle said.

I took me a few tries to trigger this message, replying as fast I could, even using the quick reply. If someone is reading a conversation and typing up a reply after reading it, I don't see how this anti-spam-bot measure can be triggered.

I don't see a forum on your board called "Thoughts". Can you be more specific about where this is occurring, and is it taking you less than 5 seconds to post your thoughts on one topic after posting your thoughts on another topic?

Re:

I have it happen in my Photo Album when I have a whole list of photos to post and don't want them all in one post. I have just learned to count slowly to 5 between posts. It is actually good to have flood control because of spammers. They sometimes post one post after another as fast as they can and it frustrates their efforts.

It's not been a huge thing, but it does not pop-up quite often for me when I click the reply button, which is different than before when it was always the submit button.

I got it a ton last night and one of the messages I spent a couple of minutes writing got the "you must wait five seconds" message, which was odd to see.

Maybe it's just a current error that will sort itself out? emoticon

That is not right. It is an issue that needs fixed.

Lesa will be back to this thread. Now we have some more specific information.
