Re:
Oh I have seen that video a few times already but it's so happy and so good that I listened to it again hahahaha.
Still need to have more work done on my car but the end is in sight ... yippee
I usually space it out if I can to cover the cost so all is good in the hood lol.
Have had real busy weeks but fingers crossed I will get some more me time soon. I was starting to get computer withdrawal symptoms

Re:
Oh, I would have major computer withdrawal if I was away too long! I hope you are able to get your car all fixed. A few weeks ago my mechanic told me my car was hopeless and that I should take it immediately and trade it in. It was unsafe and would cost too much to fix. I have a new (to me) car.

Re: Hello from the land down under
And SUSA...it was meant to be. Betty and you are perfect for each other.♥
Spherical, what else do you need done?
Those danged cars...we have to have them, so there is no putting things off.
We just had ours in not that long ago.
But its easier to have work done on the car, than on the RV..that sucker is expensive just to have them look at it..

Re:
I had the front shockers replaced recently but there is still a scraping sound so had it checked out again and it appears that another plate in the center of the car needs to be either fixed or replaced.
I had the name of it written down but that note is now with my mechanic lol.
It's the service cost that does me in every time; not the parts cost!
Here in Australia and especially in Western Australia, one can not be without a car.
My car is 17 years old and I would love to get a newer one, but I need to win the lotto first hahahaha. Having said that, I am on the lookout for a small 4wheel drive!

Re:
Oh, Martha. I know what you mean about getting a newer car. My car was 15 and when I took it in, to a specialist rather than my regular mechanic, it turned out so much was wrong with it that he refused to fix it. He said the cost would be more than going and buying a safe car and he said that is what I needed to do. I have to have a car, too. I live way out in the country and so my daughter came and got me and took me to the car lot and we picked out a car. I was fortunate. For all those 15 years, I had put money in a car fund and had never touched the money no matter what happened, and so I was able to get a pretty nice car whose name turned out to be Betty.

And I must say, Betty is a really cute looking car. She is even my favorite color, even if she isn't mine.

Re: Hello from the land down under
My car is a 99, but it only had about 65,000 miles on it when I bought it last year. I bought new tires when I bought it, had all four brake discs resurfaced, had the fuel pump replaced, had the front and rear suspension replaced, but the frame is solid, the body doesn't have any dents, and there are only a couple of nicks.
The only problem I have with it now is when I try to put gas (petrol) in the tank, I have to pump it very slowly or the pump will cut off prematurely. This seems to be an airflow problem, but the lines checked out okay, so I think it's a clogged vapor canister. My air conditioner also seems to have a small leak in it, but I have several months before our weather will get hot again.
My car is a Lincoln Continental. It was a luxury car for its time, and it's still a luxury car for me. It's a V8 for more power, but only uses 4 cylinders at cruising speed, and gets about 23 miles per gallon (10.23 liters/100km) with mostly highway driving to and from work. It has remote locks/trunk/panic button, heated leather seats, heated side mirrors, cruise control, and a trunk that's big enough to fit several bodies. It also has other features that I've turned off, like moving the seat back when the car is turned off and forward when the key is put in the ignition and turned to the 'on' position.
In total, I think I have spent less than $3000 on my car, between buying it and having all that stuff replaced.
I love my car, except when I'm filling the gas tank or driving in hot weather. Once I get those two things fixed, it will be perfect.

Re: Hello from the land down under
Sounds like a nice car - possibly too big for my liking but that's just me. I love small cars.
It certainly seems that you got a lot of value for your money.

Re: Hello from the land down under
I like small cars, too, but mine serves my needs well, it's dependable and looks nice, and yes, I did get a lot of value for my money.
My car is just like this one, right down to the colors.
