Under Construction
How can I let my members know that I am changing my board over to 'Spring', and then open it back up as soon as i'm finished?

Re:
Hi Jewel, im probably not going to be very helpful here.
You could put a message up top of the board announcing it, or a post warning it is going to happen, so if they see any disruption that is why, giving also a date when you are going to do it.
But if you dont want people on your board while you are doing that, there may be something you could put into the CSS to close it temporary but I have no idea what that would be. But of course Lesa and Pastor Rick could help more with that if that were possible, im not sure it is.
I am sure they will be help more, as soon as they can get to read this.
The only way I could think of would be to remove the members, make the board private, and with an announcement up the top of the board. I believe they would still see that if the board was private. Then put the members back manually after.
There has to be an easier way though.

Re:
Erika! I think I'll just change it, and let them wonder what is going on. I'm so bad

Re:
Don't clear your members list to do this.
1. Make a pic to replace your "holy cow" pic telling folks what you are doing.
2. You can make your board private with the "Quick Security Settings" to hide the message board but it won't hide the sidebar, background, or banner pics.
You could hide the sidebar and message board by putting:
.container {display:none;}
in your CSS but that hides the sidebar and message board from you as well so I am not sure you want to do that...

Re: Under Construction
Hi Jewel,
My personal recommendation is to announce that it's going to happen and when, get everything ready on a test board, then swap everything over to your live board as quickly as you can.
To make the change quickly, you can open every board control panel page you'll need to change on your live board (HTML, CSS, layout/colors, etc), all at the same time in different tabs, get them all ready to go, then submit them one right after the other.

That's not cheating. That's being efficient.
